The first update for a couple of years. OK so what's new. Well there's the main web site, myspace: http://www.myspace.com/wimdenherder and youtube: http://youtube.com/wimdenherder. Theres lots of video to boot!
Plus this super live performance of one of the fastest pianosolos by Oscar Peterson. Wim den Herder plays along with Oscar Peterson during a studentclub Particolarte evening in a theater. This is the first time the solo was played in front of people.

Background:
Wim grew up in a musical family and he started playing acoustic guitar at the age of six. He was influenced heavily by blues based players and played in school bands.
When he was 12 years old he wrote to a TV program and asked if they could fulfill a wish to play guitar with Jan Akkerman. His wish came true and during the show recordings he was persuaded to attend the National Guitar Awards. Against four competing adults Wim won first prize.
He has also met with Gary Moore dring the North Sea jazz festival in 1999, which moved him to play in a more rock orientated way.
In the summer 2001 Wim touched became more interested in progressive rock and fusion. During this period he began to record his playing.
He is currently teaching at the Robberts guitarshop in Hilversum and is putting a band and CD together.
