Jeff Miller: running in the red


Background:
Jeff Miller is a country based player who began playing guitar by learning country and bluegrass standards. He was initially influenced by his parent's record collection. His music influences include bluegrass, country, jazz, blues, rock and metal.

While still in his teens, Jeff formed a country band with school classmates and his sister on bass guitar. After graduating Jeff was hired by a Top-40 rock band. He was then inspired by players such as Eddie Van Halen, Paul Gilbert and Yngwie Malmsteen, practicing six hour per-day. He submitted a demo to Mike Varney and was featured in his "Spotlight" column. He Jeff's main guitar influences: Tony Rice, Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, Albert Lee, Eddie Van Halen, Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson and Brent Mason.
