Torben Enevoldsen: solo flying

News:
25-11-2007:
Torben Enevoldsen released a cracking CD back in 2005, (highly recommended if you a fan of melodic guitar and accurate picking techniques)... this is you chance to catch up with Torben in this imhotep interview:
In 2005 your third solo album “Flying Solo” hit stores. Were you at this point able to make a full time career as a musician - as I also understand that you are a guitar teacher also? Do you believe your instrumental albums can appeal to more than just the schooled musicians who are looking for playing chops?

“Yes, I was making a living playing music and teaching the guitar when the “Flying Solo” album was released. I personally believe that my instrumental stuff is not just for other musicians. I try to make the songs as melodic as possible, but I'm aware that not a lot of people are into all instrumental music. It is certainly a niche and not the most lucrative road to travel”

Background:
Torben Enevoldsen began playing guitar in the early 1980s inspired by players like Tony Iommi, Richie Blackmore, and Edward Van Halen. Later on he heard players like Yngwie Malmsteen and this inspired him to practice every day

To improve his playing he got a 4-track tape recorder, a drum machine and a bass to record his own compositions. These inlcude a demo CD called "Just In Case". He then record some more instrumental and vocal tracks for his Guitarisma CD.

In May 2000 Torben returned to the studio and released Lion Music label CD Heavy Persuasion in October 2000.

Torben then recorded a vocal album on the same label. The album called "The Seventh Sign" was released in June 2003 and features guest performances by Derek Sherinian and Günter Werno.
