Background:
Orianthi was born in Australia and first started piano lessons at kindergarten. She also played her fathers guitars and started by playing left handed but changed to right handed in my first year of school. She started guitar lessons when she was 7 years old.
After her 11th birthday she saw Carlos Santana in concert and decided that electric guitar was what she wanted to play. She got into BB King, Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana.
She recorded a 5-track demo at home entitled "Under the Influence" at the age of 14. She left school at 15 years of age to concentrate on music. One of her first gigs, was in front of a capacity crowd in Adelaide as a support act for Steve Vai! Steve became a big influence at that point.In 2003 she realized her dream of meeting and playing along with Carlos Santana during his Australian tour.
