Toshi is currently recording his follow-up to his first instrumental "Full On!", lets hope his studio doesn't burn down like it did when he recorded his first CD. He is also in the process of recording a follow-up to "RAMA 1" with bassist Andy West, cunningly titled "RAMA 2"!

Background:
Toshi was born in Chicago Illinois. He was inspired to play the guitar after watching his uncle, Jeff Brown, play guitar. Initially Toshi practiced a couple of hours per day, then started practicing up to 5 hours a day, eventually parcticing up to 15 hours a day! In 1985 and 1986, Toshi entered and won the 'Hot Licks' contest for two years in a row. He then received a scholarship for Berklee College Of Music. He then went on to become a guitar tutor

Toshi's first "serious" influences were guitarists like Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Adrian Vandenberg, Uli Jon Roth, Jimi Hendrix, and Michael Schenker. Later he was influneced by classical guitar players, 80's shred players and many of the better know fusion players. A full list is available from his comprehensive web site bio.

You can read a review of "Rama1", a guitar9 interview from 2002 or you can check out the music from his CD's or buy the music online on his web shop.
