Background:
Alex Oliva is a native of Brazil. He has played guitar for a number of years incorporating neo classical stylings into his playing. He has extended this by incorporating more progressive, exotic musical influences.

His first band Deja-Vu was formed in 1988, performing Speed Metal, Heavy Metal and Progressive Metal. Then in 1995 he joined Kennereth who have a more progressive outlook. They released their debut CD Eyes Of Fire in 1999. Alex then moved to Dark Avenger and then on to his current band Spectroscopy.

He hopes to release a numbre of CD's this year:





Influences include: Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, Larry Carlton, John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucia, Al Dimeola, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joey Tafolla, Greg Howe, Jason Becker, Tony Maclpine, Vinnie Moore, Rainbow, Dio, Van Halen, UFO, Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush - Live, Allan Holdsworth, Deep Purple.

  2. For me he is a differential inside of the style Heavy Metal, because he incorporates in your music different types of musical influences in his tunes, even if he plays guitar in the speed of the light... lol
