Benjamin Barshai: after the quest

Benjamin Barshai has been accepted into the Juilliard School Pre-College for Composition. Benjamin is also working on his debut (The Quest), which will include 5 tracks one of which will be an opus of "Lord of the Rings" style cinematic music.

Benjamin Barshai, has become a featured artist on Mike Varney's spotlight column for June 2006.

The news means he has also secured a deal with Lion Music to release his debut CD "The Quest" that will be out early 2007. Joining Benjamin will be drummer, Daniel Flores from Mind's Eye and Tears of Anger.

Background:
Benjamin Barshai, was born in March of 1989. He started by taking basic piano lessons and at the age of eight, he won first place in the Reflections Contest for compositions. During school he won a musicians award for his piano compositions from the 2003 Young Artists competition in Northeast Pennsylvania.

His musical inspiration was drawn from: Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Niccolo Paganini, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin, Franz Schubert, Domenico Scarlatti, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Anton Dvorak, Edvard Grieg, Camille Saint-Saens, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Danny Elfman, and Philip Glass.

His guitar influences include Yngwie Malmsteen, Alexi Laiho, Timo Tolkki, Rusty Cooley, Theodore Ziras and Francesco Fareri.
