Background:
May Lian was born in Armenia, in 1962. He started playing guitar at the age of 9. He attended music school, graduating and going on to become one of the most prominent guitar players in Russia.

His professional career started in 1984 and he has worked with Olis, Aspares, Action, Ballerina, Olga Kormuhina and Alla Pugacheva. In 1990 he worked as a studio guitarist and stage musician in Europe. When he returned to Russia in 1993, he published the first Russian guitar video school "Absolute technique and positions", which sold 200,000 copies going on to publish "Improvise with me" selling 250,000 copies.

In 1995 he played on "These guys with guitars" a project of 10 best Russian guitar players. His most recent appearance was on the Jason Becker Tribute, Warmth In The Wilderness.
