Grotesk is the third album from this French trio. Their two previous albums brought them world wide acclaim for their intriguing amalgam of jazz and metal fused together with a strong dose of Zappa-esque humour.
Mörglbl was born in 1996 after noted guitarist Christophe Godin decided to form an instrumental fusion rock band. After meeting Jean Pierre Frelezeau (drums) and Ivan Rougny (bass), they decided to work together on the project.
With the release of Grotesk, Mörglbl has created an album with cross genre appeal. Fans of shred and fusion Gods like Allan Holdsworth, Steve Vai or Freak Kitchen’s Mattias IA Eklundh will find much to sink their teeth into.

Shred Fusion Jam
1. We just released a new cd with Pierrejean Gaucher, as a guitar duo, entitled "2G".
It is a mix of originals and covers played in a intimate way, with just two guitars, some effects, and... that's all !!! We'll be touring quite a lot, starting next week, and we hope to meet some familiar faces on the road as well as new ones...
2. Mörglbl's newest release is also ready and will be released in April, under the name of "Grötesk". We also shot some funny video for "Tapas nocturnes", as well as a "making of..." that tells the story behind this unexpected third Mörglbl cd (we disbanded four years ago, and no reunion was planned...).
3. I will lead a Week of the Kartoon Guitar in July, in Tours (France) that will last five days, and will cover all areas of my playing. Some guests will visit us, and Mörglbl will perform a private gig for the 30 Kartoon Guitarists. You can expect some funny report about the project !!!
4. I'm already writing for Metal Kartoon second release, and at the moment, about ten songs are composed. Expect something different from everything you've heard in my previous releases...
5. 2007/08 tour dates will lead me to Indonesia, Japan, Singapor, Russia, United States, China, Germany, Holland. so, wherever you are, stay tuned !!!

Background:
Christophe Godin, was born in France. He played guitar for a number of years without gaining any profile. However, in 1995 Christophe joined Temple and released an album that got good distribution in France and got some very positive reviews.
In 1996, he appeared on a compilation CD called "Guitare Attitudes" that got him a spot on the French tv show Nulle Part Ailleurs on Canal plus as a guest guitarist.
In 1997, he created the band the Mörglbl Trio and released two albums which was internationally distributed. Christophe became a guitar teacher at the E.T.M., Geneva, Switzerland and also released a guitar instructional video "Heavy metal : les techniques".
Christophe, created a solo project "Christophe Godin's Metal Kartoon"and released a CD in 2005.
His success has earned endorsements from Vigier and Alvarez guitars, Laney amps, Zoom effects and Ernie Ball strings.
