Blabbermouth news: Steamhammer/SPV will release UFO's "Showtime" DVD as a state-of-the-art HD-DVD on February 25, 2008. This entertaining two-DVD set features UFO's concert filmed in Wilhelmshaven Pumpwerk, Germany on May 13, 2005 and the 16 live songs span much of UFO's lengthy career. The inclusion of a six-song, live session filmed in Peppermint Park Studios on May 26, 2005 gives fans a whopping 22 UFO classics to enjoy.
UFO - Showtime Showcase
This High Definition release is not only outstanding in the quality of the images and audio, it also features additional bonus material that was not included in the original release, such as "picture-in-picture" interviews and "on-the-fly" menus, which can be operated while viewing the film.
The many bonus features include a "making-of-the-DVD" piece, interviews with the band and crew members, slideshow, discography, a making of studio songs feature, footage from Rockboat performance and footage from the band's 2004 US tour.

UFO's live DVD Showtime has been scheduled for release on February 22nd in Germany, the 25th throughout the rest of Europe and April 8th in North America via SPV.

The recording of the live DVD, "Showtime", was at the Pumpwerk in Wilhelmshaven on May 13, 2005. Get Ready to Roll interview with Vinnie moore who talks about his new CD and Dean Guitars:
The album has 11 songs and is being mixed right now by Paul Northfield who also did the latest Dream Theater CD as well as many Rush records such as Moving Pictures. Van Romaine (of the Steve Morse band) played drums and JD DeServio (Black Label Society) played bass. Tim Lehner (Zeroesque) did the keyboards and I even have a guest named Hurricane Hank from the George Thorogood band playing sax on one tune. I think this is my best creative effort yet. It has taken a while becuase I have been on the road so much and I can't wait to get it out there for people to hear. I can't give a release date yet.... but I will as soon as I know. It won't be much longer.

Vinnie Moore has been in the studio recording keyboards for his new solo album with keyboardist Tim Lehner from the band Zeroesque. Fans will recall that Vinnie made a guest appearence on their recent CD. According to Vinnie Moore, the sessions are going well and will be finished this week, with mixing is tentatively scheduled to start in July or August 2007"...plus part two of the live video post.

The good news is that all data from the old VM Forum has been transferred. The new format is much more stable and things should be quicker now. The only hitch is that all data posted from January 6, 2007 will be lost. Sorry about that. Not too many messages will be missing though. Vinnie Moore discusses his solo record on his web site:
"Actually, the guitars for this are about 90 percent finished at the moment. I am really elaborate with the recording process as I am writing new songs. It would be pointless for me to try to re-record things that I have created spontaneously. It never comes out as good when you try to recapture a moment. When I recorded my earlier records I always dreamed of a day when I would be able to record at home while I am actually creating the music. Going back and re-recording everything for the second time was always a bummer or me. So much more inspiring and creative to capture the moment when it is happening. Just me and the spiders. I have been doing so since The Maze in 1999. I have about 12 songs written and am in the middle of writing 2 others. I will be finishing up the writing and then will choose the best 10 songs. Will be thinking about and planning the recording sessions in the near future. I don't know yet where I will be recording and who will be playing on it. I have some ideas but haven't decided or talked with anyone at this point. If everything goes as planned, I will be recording the other instruments over the summer. At the moment, I have decided to record and then look at record label options after it is finished. I feel that doing it this way will give me more freedom to do whatever I wanna do. So...to all you dwellers at the VM forum, feel free to post some of your thoughts on players. Ya never know, I may get some good ideas from you."

Vinnie Moore has completed The Monkey Puzzle a new UFO album whis is set for a September release on SPV records. Promotion tours will follow from October.
Vinnie has also finished recording solos on a song called Se A Cabo for an upcoming Santana tribute record which is coming out on Mike Varneys Tone Center Records. The Cd will also feature Jeff Richman, Pat Martino, Albert Lee, Mike Stern, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Eric Gales and Frank Gambale.

Yes sir!, a brilliant show. Vinnie Moore pulled out all the stops showing us his amazing "god-finger" techique! He also talked humerously about his playing and influences. He also gently handled some over enthusiastic intoxicated punters!
Vinnie confirmed that a UFO DVD will be released later this year and that he's about half way through recording his next instrumental CD and this time it may be released on his own label.

Background
Vinnie Moore began playing at the age of 12. He first came to my attention in Guitar Player's "Spotlight" column written by Shrapnel Records boss Mike Varney. The spotlight led Vinnie to land a pepsi(mp3) TV commercial.
Varney snapped up Vinnie Moore, to be the lead player on the Vicious Rumors "Soldiers of the Night" album. His playing on this CD was nothing short of sensational and It was easy to see that Vinnie's talents were too good for the band and he soon left.
Vinnie's stunning debut, Mind's Eye, for Shrapnel was released in 1987 and sold over 100,000 copies.
Moore's second effort Time Odyssey reaffirmed his reputation with sales of over six figures, his third release Meltdown proved to be his tour de force, garnering overwhelming support from both AOR and Hard Rock radio.
Vinnie joined Alice Cooper's band, and toured the US and performed on the Alice Cooper album Hey Stoopid.
His own band later secured the Northeast leg of Rush's Roll The Bones Tour. Vinnie followed up the Rush tour with a headlining tour of the U.S followed by a clinic tour of Japan, Scandanavia, Italy, Poland, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, England, Germany and Australia.
He has since released a number of other CD's, including:
