Background:
Zé Filho was born in Recife-PE, Brazil. He has been playing guitar for 18 years. He started to study music in the conservatory of UFPB, studying classic viola for 4 year. He started guitar at the age of 16 and is primarily self-taught.
He is well known in northern Brazil for his own style of Brazilian instrumental music and has already recoreded and released 3 CDs'. He is i nthe process of completing his latest CD for release this year.
He has played at the Montreux jazz festival in 1999. He also played live in from of 60,000 with his band Insight at the Skol Rock festival in São Paulo.
