Willem, MySpace guitar spy let me know about a new DVD!?!... yeah that's right as Andy Timmons and his Band head out on a Euro Tour 2008 in March/April 2008 for shows in Germany, Belgium, Spain and Italy ( no UK)! The concerts will feature material from the critically acclaimed "Resolution" CD as well many early ATB favourites and even some new material the band is working on for their next CD. The brand new DVD "Resolution Live" will also be available at the shows!!

The Andy Timmons Band will be touring Europe in September performing a series of concert/clinics sponsored by Mesa Boogie. This will be a unique opportunity to hear Andy, Mike and Dan in concert as well as getting a chance to hear them discuss how they get their awesome tones. Timmons:

You need to gig a lot and push as many doors as you can. When I was in my first band I sent out demos to all the record labels that I could think of, and radio stations and that kind of thing. I didn’t realise that in theory that isn’t the way things are supposed to be done! We got some positive responses from some labels, even though nothing actually came from it. You really need to believe in your material, and also get people who are going to appraise it honestly. There’s no point in your family and friends telling you that you’re great, only to find out that everyone else thinks that you’re terrible! Gentle persistence is good, but you need to make sure that you don’t get annoying to people. When I was starting out I sent my demos to Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, hoping that they’d have a listen. Make a demo that people can hear easily. If you want to get into session playing, then make a demo that shows off a few different skills. Above all you need to be writing great songs

Background:
Andy was born in Evansville, Indiana. He started his first band at the age of 13. He began learning about how to make a living playing guitar by reading about session players like Steve Lukather and Larry Carlton.

The decision to pursue the session work lead him to study classical guitar for two years and moving to Miami to study jazz guitar at the University of Miami.

Andy became the guitarist for pop-metal band Danger Danger, touring the world opening for Kiss and Alice Cooper, selling over a million records worldwide, and having had two #1 videos on MTV.

As a session player, he has played on number of CDs including: Simon Phillips, Olivia Newton-John, Kip Winger, Paula Abdul, Paul Stanley,

His latest CD is on Steve Vai's Favored Nations: That was then this is now.
