Background:
Simon Goldsmith, also known as "EsGi", was born in London, England in 1979. He grew up in Camden, London where he now has his own studio. He started learning classical guitar in primary school at the age of 11, reaching Grade 6 (ABRSM) before changing styles to learn jazz, and is now fluent in all the major music styles. He discovered playing piano at 19 and has been playing ever since, playing mainly jazz and blues.
His first experience of writing music involved just a guitar and a tape deck, using it to overdub layers of guitar and vocals, including beat boxing. Later he used an Atari 1040stfm with a copy of Cubase and a keyboard which his father bought him.

He has been in a number of live groups from metal to hip hop. to work on music. EsGi has worked in various studios as a producer/ musician/ songwriter. He is now freelance, running EsGi Music and Sound Design.
