The time for a Christmas present from the past. This time some live video of Yngwie back in 1986... over twenty years old and a couple of years after I first saw Yngwie play.

16-12-2007:
It's Christmas time, so time for the king of neo classical guitar.

Ab antiquo
Ab integro
Audi vide
Tace si vis vivere in pace

Why cannot man also fly
We're chained down to the earth
Not like birds in the sky
Soaring from birth
Devices of destruction, Devices of death
Find out their construction
Give them life, give them breath

Which God may I thank
Making art from a canvas blank
Paintings from the holy book
Depicting Christ and the chance he took
Oh, tell me

When will you ever learn
the treu depths of my work
Future is my concern
You know art is my church

Gaze inside the quest of man
And find a new machine
I learn everything I can
Dig it up, cut it clean
Always tried my very best
To find what lies within
Put myself to the test
Judge me not, it's not a sin

Which God may I thank
Making art from a canvas blank
Paintings from the holy book
Depicting Christ and the chance he took
Oh, tell me

When will you ever learn
the true depths of my work
Future is my concern
You know art is my church
When I'm dead and I'm gone
Will you remember me?
I've seen beyond the sun
Reinventing machines

Ab antiquo
Ab integro
Audi vide
Tace si vis vivere in pace...

23-09-2007:
Doogie White went to Florida in July to meet up with Yngwie Malmsteen with regards to taking part in the recording sessions for the Swedish guitarist's next studio album. White says,
"I have not even started the recording with Yngwie. He is working on the music production and lyrics at the moment. We have agreed in principle that I will sing it and we are both enthusiastic about doing a third album together."

19-09-2007:
An interview with Derek Sherinian, covering topics with Malmsteen, Holdsworth etc..

Zakk Wylde concurs: “It’s a great honor to play on the same tracks as Yngwie,” he says. “Yngwie’s a living legend! I’m surprised I’m still around to talk about him because the first time I heard his playing I thought my head was gonna explode. A buddy of mine played one of his tracks on Steeler [1983] to me over the phone, and my brain almost popped out of my head! I said, ‘Holy shit—is that guitarist from Mars?’ Yngwie doesn’t play fast just for the sake of it; his playing has blues, groove, soul and feel. That’s the true mark of any phenomenal musician; you don’t hear them, you feel them. Yngwie will go down in history with people like Hendrix, Bach, Paganini and Beethoven. Derek and I worship Yngwie’s playing.”

“I must say that Yngwie is the most exciting guitarist I’ve produced,” says Sherinian. “He listens to a track once and lays his solo in just one take. It’s mindboggling to witness such unbridled fluidity from a musician. Most have to work at it, but Yngwie is a natural. After the main lead guitar war on ‘Axis of Evil,’ there’s a three-way trade-off among Zakk, Yngwie and myself. It’s the first time we ever hear Yngwie shredding in mixolydian mode, and it’s something to behold.”

13-08-2007:
Another Yngwie relic up for grabs on ebay...this time the brother of the famous duck guitar.

It is once again that time of the year when Yngwie needs to make some room, it sure ain't cause he needs the money!!, Having come back from an incredibly sucessful tour in December 2006 and blowing the roof off the NAMM show in Los Angeles a few months ago which was seen by over one million people!!! (see www.fender.com click on Frontline to see the videos and yngwie.org Yngwie's ONLY official website), he is back home and has been working on some new material for his upcoming CD. The auction for this instrument will be listed on this official website in the next day or two. So, with no further due, being listed for your consideration, is this natural finish Fender Stratocaster Guitar, This guitar is an extremely early 1970's model with a scalloped maple neck, The neck is a three bolt neck, not converted over to the four bolt neck as are most of Yngwie's current guitars. The instrument has Yngwie's old school mods as the pickups in the bridge and neck are HS-3's Dimarzio's and a stock vintage Fender Strat pick up in the middle. The pick up screws are countersunk and the tremolo block is one piece diecast (early/rare) Yngwie personally has owned and played this instrument in the studio and in concerts throughout the world and there are many photos in publications around showing him playing this instrument. One of the photos in this listing shows a young Yngwie pointing skywards in front of his Marshall stacks, this photo of Yngwie playing the listed instrument was taken in 1983 during the "Alcatrazz" era. The photograph of Yngwie in the leather jacket was taken of him playing the listed instrument on June 30, 1984 at "The Pier" in New York City on his twenty- first birthday.

This instrument is is like all the instruments that Yngwie owns, a balls to the wall rip snorting instrument of mass destruction! The few minor battle scars are all evidence of previous wars! It is a used instrument in good condition and it plays well (set up to Yngwie's specs). I am not a guitar expert but will try to answer your questions if you ask them early. Please limit them to the listed instrument as I will have to ask Yngwie if I do not know. Please look carefully as the instrument is beautiful natural wood finish in very good condition, it is a Malm driven machine and it is what it is and what you see. I can ask him to autograph it if you wish. It will come with an Yngwie signed letter of authenticity and a photo of him signing this letter. The starting bid is very low and the instrument may be sold locally as there are several music stores and collectors that have expressed great interest, along with a well known restaurant chain. It is because of this that I am reserving the right to end this auction early.

More History on this Instrument:

This guitar, per The Malm, is the brother of The Duck, they were the main two staples of Yngwie's guitars. Yngwie bought this guitar in Sweden at the "Music Borsen" pre his U.S. days in 1978. Yngwie had originally scalloped the neck personally, then later had Larry Lashbrook his personal luthier re-scallop it again and refrett with Dunlop jumbos. This guitar was the one that Yngwie used in the original demo tape recording of "Black Star" that was sent to Mike Varney of Guitar Player magazine in late 1981. This demo tape when heard is what resulted in Yngwie coming to the U.S. and the guitar listed was used extensively as his main axe along with The Duck during the Alcatraz and the early Rising Force days.

The guitar has remained unchanged since then and in Yngwie's collection since. Many believe this instrument to possibly be second only to The Duck in value due to it's history it is likely to skyrocket in value with time. (Yngwie has turned down offers of over 1.5 million for The Duck !!!!) Bidders please be informed that there may not be a more valuable guitar previously owned by Yngwie up for sale so it is basically now or never!!!

Thanks to all of you ! and ROCK ON!!!

Yngwie arrested

The "Unleash the f**kin Fury tape" Tokyo Flight

Background:
Yngwie was born Lars Johann Yngve Lannerbeck. When his parents got divorced, his sister Ann Louise (Lolo) kept their father's name, and Yngwie and his brother Bjorn took their mother's maiden name of Malmsteen. He also dropped Lars and shortened the whole thing to Yngwie Johann Malmsteen, changing to a somewhat more Anglicized spelling. Yngwie Malmsteen is one of rock's premiere virtuoso guitarists. I first saw yngwie live in 1984 in London on the ""Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force" tour. The gig was extra special because a large percentage of the audience that turned up were convinced this was a special one off gig by Bruce Springsteen! I still have a tape where you can hear the crowd call "Bruce, Bruce we want Bruce".

As was proven by our recent neo classical poll Yngwie is a big draw for guitar fans.

Creating fans sites for the music eg Baroque and Rolland for sites like Yngwie Megafan site. Also check out his massive discography

He needs know introduction to fans of guitar...
