Fredrik Pihl is featured in this month's issue of Guitar Player magazine! They did a review on his song Fret Circus and it got some nice words. Michael Molenda - Guitar player magazine said:
This "circus" must be populated by 1,000 tiny cars zipping around ringside, smacking into each other at dizzying speeds, and vomiting hundreds of clowns into the audience with each collision. Yes, this track is that bizarre. Pihl's masterful technique is as scary as his wacky compositional chops. He frightens me.

An interview Fredrik Pihl by www.musicvirtuosity.com

My influences has changed a lot over the years, and they keep changing all the time I guess. But some of my favorite players are Ron Thal, Allan Holdsworth, Guthrie Govan, Dave Martone, Mattias IA Eklundh, Joe Satriani, Pat Metheny, Shawn Lane and not to forget my really good friend Magnus Olsson who is talented beyond this world. He has always helped me going in the right direction, and he is like a living guitar dictionary...

Freddy's back with a ballad track. The track is a slow musical song about finding Inner peace during hard and difficult times. Some nice guest vocals by Evelina Andersson.

Fredrik Pihl did some jamming over a backing track on a Swedish guitar forum. It was a neo classical Yngwie-theme, so he thought some fretless guitar would come in handy....a minor jam

Background:
Fredrik Pihl was born 1980 in Sweden. His first musical influence was singing Christmas songs of Bosse Larsson! He started playing guitar at the age of 12 after watching Slash playing. He took lessons at a local music school, learning basic chords and scales.

He then got into punk music and considered himself a rythm player. That changed when he began to practice more heavily and got lessons from Christofer Malmström, from Darkane, who is a big fan of Yngwie Malmsteen. Then he became influenced by Marty Friedman for his phrasing, vibrato and use of exotic scales.

1999 he attended a clinic by Mattias IA Eklundh, after which he got private lessons and attended the annual Freak guitar camp. He then became inspired by Ron Thal and Magnus Olsson . In 2005 he started taking lessons from Dave Martone.

Some of his influences include: Bumblefoot, Frank Zappa, Allan Holdsworth, Mattias IA Eklundh, Shawn Lane, Magnus Olsson, The Beatles, Genesis, Evergrey, Pat Metheny, Freak Kitchen, Brett Garsed, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Romeo and Django Reinhardt

Check out his mp3, lessons and he is also featured on Ron Thals People I hate page
