The combined vision of guitarist Michael Harris and vocalist Ted Leonard (Enchant), Thought Chamber is a fresh-faced, technically precise progressive rock and metal band. Their debut, Angular Perceptions, is a thought-provoking, challenging collection of songs that hone Leonard’s soulful, melodic vocals, and Harris’ penchant for sheik, brash compositions.

According to Harris, the band’s ambitions are high but achievable, based largely in part due to the talent assembled.

“Thought Chamber’s vision is to create material that is as original as possible. We like to include elements of funk and groove into our sound so it has to sound tight. In my mind these elements are often missing from many of the bands in this genre. We feel it’s really important to create a big dynamic.”

“In order to achieve an inimitable sound for the band, we like to arrange the music a little differently,” continues Harris. “For instance, instead of having just one guy play all the solos, we’ll distribute them between a few of the guys. This way, we manage to create a kind of ensemble playing within the group”.

After starting work on Angular Perceptions in 2001, Harris was able to secure the services of Leonard towards the end of the writing process, finally completing work on the album in 2004. Thought Chamber is rounded out by drummer Rob Stankiewicz, bassist Derek Blakley, and keyboard player Bobby Williamson. The album features a stunning 16 page booklet by artrist, John Holland ( www.mistymountaingraphics.com ).

Three instrumental pieces are scattered about Angular Perceptions, but the bulk of the album features seven, hard-hitting and vocal-driven songs of varying topics and influences.

“’Sacred Treasure’ is a perfect vehicle for the biggest strengths within the band - Ted’s great voice, big dynamics and the feeling for strong melodies and ensemble playing,” said Harris. “While ‘A Mind Beyond’ combines classical touches with great melody and a progressive instrumental middle section that ends in a mesmerizing piano outro.”

Complex, bold, and inventive, Angular Perceptions is the best of both the rock and metal progressive worlds, sure to capture the minds and attention of those in search of something new.

Background:
Micheal Harris was born in Ohio to parents that were both musicians. He started to play French horn at the age of 11. Moving on to a cornet, he played in the school orchestra. At the age of 14 he got into guitar.

He has played in a number of bands which gained considerable success and attained sizable following in the USA. Micheal was featured in Mike Varney’s Guitar Player Magazine "Spotlight" column and decided to record his forst solo instrumental album called "Defense Mechanizms". He went onto to tour with Dave Chastain, releasing "Chastain/Harris" live album, "Live! Wild and Truly Diminished".
