Nick Andrew and Curfew again. Nick says:
Chick Coreas Spain played by Curfew live at the Electric Theatre in Guildford. It was one of the worst onstage sounds ever as I remember. The drums sound very loud out front, but you couldn't hear them onstage which was wierd!

The 22:41 update! Nick Andrew says:
"Flight of the Bumble Blues, Live at the London Guitar show. This is a cut down version of the first track on my solo album, Solo? with a wee bit of Victor Wooten slap half way through for experimentation...The performance is interesting from my point of view as at the time I couldn't hear much because of the noise from other stands. It's strange to actually hear what you played 2 days ago for the first time. Talk about latency! You can also see the fantastic Christoph Godin coming over to the stand to see what all the fuss was about (about 2:50 mins into it). Thanks to the lovely Jendra for giving me the video.
...ahh I remember it well...thanks to Jendra to!

Flight of the Bumble Blues Live

The 17:50 update! Here is a wee excerpt of Curfew live from the Marlbourough Jazz festival in 2003. The line up is Martin Lawrie (keys), Russ Wilson (drums), Nick Andrew (guitar) and Paul Francis (bass) who was deputising for the regular low end guy, Steve Marshall.

This is just a small snippet of the tune, but you can here the whole thing if you go and buy the latest Curfew album, "Hold the Front Page"

02-05-2007:
You know when you should have bought the CD's...still kicking myself fo not getting them when I had the chance. Nick Andrew says:
This is me playing 3 funk which appears on the 'Hold the Front Page' album by my fusion band Curfew. I had to edit the backing track down to under 5mins to play at the London Guitar show. The song was written at a rehersal when Martin, the keyboard player brought in an old Casio keyboard that he he'd programmed some demos onto (he used to work for Casio). He put one of the demo grooves on and we ended up jamming to it and composed the song almost there and then. It's fun to play because it's in 3/4 and the melody is quite slippery! Anyway, Enjoy!!!!

29-04-2007:

I did manage to remember to buy Nick Andrews CD, solo? ! He put on a great show, with his reworking of one of his favourite composers Rimsky-Korsakov's, flight of the bumble bee...Flight Of The Bumble Blues. I really liked his set which had a more fusion feel. note to self...I must buy myself a video camera for people would see what I mean! Highly recommend! Again thanks to alloutguitar.com for assembling so a great line up!(plus they were nice and friendly too!)

26-04-2007:

The tune itself is based on Tower of inspiration by Dave Weckl and is layered using a looper pedal (RC-20) and is played live, but had to be cut because Nick actually played for 28mins and 4 secs.
