Background:
Lars Eric Mattsson was discovered by Mike Varney in 1985. He released a 4 track vinyl EP “Can’t Go On Without Your Love” in 1987. Lars signed to Black Dragon Records releasing Eternity (1988), No Surrender (1989) and the all instrumental Electric Voodoo (1991). Electric Voodoo was picked up by David T Chastain's Leviathan Records in USA and released under the Title “The Exciter” in 1992, and then in 1995 it was released in Asia by SKC.
In 1992 Lars formed the band 'Vision' and recorded 1992's album 'Lars Eric Mattsson’s Vision' a follow up album was recorded but never released. Later Lars recorded 1995 CD 'Astral Groove', which was blues based. In 1996 Lars recorded the album 'Till the End of Time'.
In 1997 Lars recorded 'Obsession' which got good reviews with Progression magazine of USA calling it 1998’s best Guitar album.
In the autumn of 1999 Lars begun writing for another album working with Patrick Rondat, Rob Johnson, Erik Norlander, Pär Lindh, Esa Pietilä… delivering a 70+ minute long opus consists of 14 new compositions.
In the year of 2000 Lars put together a progressive band called 'Condition Red', the debut album features Derek Sherinian and Alex Masi.
In 2003 Lars recorded 'Power Games' and later in 2003 Condition Red reformed to record and release their second album of progressive rock titled “II”.
In 2004 released “On the Edge” and worked on 'Book Of Reflections' featuring Vitalij Kuprij.
In 2005 Lars released a progressive metal concept album/metal opera 'War' featuring Mark Boals, Vitalij Kuprij, Lance King, Rene Janssen, Benny Jansson. Leter that same year releasing his first instrumental release in 10 years entitled "Earthbound".
In 2006 he completed "Book Of Reflections II : Unfold The Future" featuring Martin LeMar and Björn Jansson, with additional guitar from Anand Mahangoe and keyboards from Mistheria.
In 2008 Lars releases symphonic and prog metal of 'Dream Child'. featuring Adrienn Antal.
