Planet Rock has been nominated for three Sony Radio Awards. The nominations for the 26th annual Sony Radio Academy Awards, the radio equivalent of the Oscars, have been announced and Planet Rock made sure rock was at the top of the list.
Here's what we have been nominated for:
* Digital Station of the Year Award
* Multiplatform Radio Award (Monthly Specials)
* Music Broadcaster Award (Fish on Friday)
However, it was announced on 11th Feb 2008, that GCap Media, (the owners of Planet Rock) were to CLOSE this radio station by the end of March 2008. This has now been extended until end April, pending negotiations to sell Planet Rock. GCap Media have now closed theJazz and will be handing back various local XFM licenses they hold, or selling them off.
