Kevin Peters: a new string to his bow

News:
04-10-2008:
I was wondering why Kevin Peters had not posted any new video of his hybrid two hand tapped guitar style. Well it turns out that last December he decided to buy his step son a nice compound bow. Like most of us when were kids we always liked shooting bows. Kevin Peters Explains:
I bought these carbon fiber arrows, which can become weak after many shots into hard targets (trees, etc). Well a few weeks later (January 12) one of the arrows shattered on me when I released it. I bought a 60 pound compound bow, so there was a lot of pressure on that arrow. I didn't realize that it was cracked. So anyway the shaft of the arrow broke about 8 inches from the fletching (feathers) and the shaft inpaled into my hand that was holding the bow. It went all the way though my hand and hit the bow handle, forcing it out of my hand. Fortunately the bow handle stopped the arrow from completely passing through my hand, fletching and all.

Ouch

OOOhh

AGHHhhh

Kevin continues:
Despite it being my main tapping hand, I was actually able to start playing guitar again after a few weeks, howbeit difficult and painful for awhile. It being 9 monthes later now I still have some bad pain when I tap certain things. It could have been much worse though. I thank God that it wasn't worse. The arrow just grazed my bone in my thumb. It couldn't have been much closer to it without it breaking the bone I'm sure.

The good news is he can still play and says he's working on an original classically type 16th note monster composition that is the most technical thing he's done to date. Rest assured once it's posted you'll see it on Truth In Shredding.
