Hawk:
"Personally I think that any creative artist grows with time. It's only a natural progression that musicians try new styles or get into different projects to try to make it in the music business. It's good to keep an open mind on things so it doesn't surprise me when artists try to experiment. I personally like the heavy mixed with Classical influence and melody. I think anything could work if you experiment and know how to fuse different styles together. There are many directions an artist could take to draw inspiration from. DREAM THEATER did by fusing Jazz elements with Metal. Yngwie, Uli, Blackmore and Schenker did it with Classical... John McLaughlin and Al Dimeola fused ethnic elements in their music. It doesn't surprise me when artists change direction because various styles have different tastes. Sometimes you have an appetite for real heavy, other times you might want to compose more melodic. Whatever the mood is that's what the music should serve. The best analogy I could make is that it's like food. You wouldn't want to eat the same thing every day. Music is like our spiritual food. That's why some artists change direction or experiment with different styles."
