In the hot-off-the-presses June issue of Vintage Guitar, Wolf Marshall takes a second tour of the domain of actor Steven Seagal, this time, hanging with Billy Gibbons and paying homage to blues man Albert King while perusing his three primary guitars.

Then, Lisa Sharken speaks with Paul Gilbert about his collection of vintage Ibanez guitars, while George Gruhn and Walter Carter reveal the history of Gibson's Mastertone banjo series, Willie Moseley talks about a unique Carvin DN440T bass, Dave Hunter schools us on the student-grade Airline 62-9015A amp straight outta the catalog, and Michael Wright reminds us that not all '60s imports like the Teisco SD-4L were simply "cheap" guitars. And to tantalize Höfner aficionados, this month we tell the story of the Fledermausgittarre, a concept instrument built mostly for show.

Taking the time this month to talk about their new music and other projects are jazz legend Larry Coryell, Chicago blues royalty Guy King, as well as Danny Caron, Andreas Oberg, Fareed Haque, Cris Jacobs, and Gary Louris.

Our monthly horde of gear "break-downs" includes Fender's Road Worn guitars, the Stromberg Newport Hollowbody, the Blackbird Rider, Retro-Sonic pedals, the Dan Armstrom Green Ringer and Orange Squeezer, Lindy Fralin Hum-Cancelling P90 pickups, and the Centrance AxePort Pro.
