News: blues jam tracks summer sale... one week left

Jack Thammarat

Summer Sale:

There's just one week left in our July sale, so if you want to get some jam tracks or albums at a massively reduced price, do it now! Included in this special offer are Guthrie Govan's Contemporary Series, all Jambusters full bundles and all Jan Cyrka albums. Each price is reduced by over 25% so don't miss this opportunity!

The sale might be ending, but we still have plenty of cool summer guitar stuff happening... Jack Thammarat, Guitar Idol 2009 winner and composer of the unfeasibly catchy "On the Way", has recorded a special new video for us. This video features another of his fantastic melodic rock tunes, and we're building a Custom Shop package with it, containing the usual backing track and Tab. We'll be launching this very, very soon!

Our talented songwriter friend James Graydon has put together a lovely set of jam tracks designed for melodic soloing. There are some rich, sophisticated chords and a general soulful feel. As usual, we'll let you know as soon as Melodic Series 1 becomes available! We wondered who should play the sample solos, and settled on some guy called Guthrie Govan. Perhaps you know him? ;-)

Chart

Basking in the glory of his Guitar Idol 2009 win, Jack Thammarat tops the heap this month. Alex and Guthrie also prove to be as popular as ever. New tracks from all three players are due very soon. Based on downloads for the last 30 days, the most popular bundles are:

1 Jack Thammarat - On the Way
2 Alex Hutchings - Custom Fusion Bundle
3 Guthrie Govan - Erotic Cakes Bundle
4 Rock Blues Bundle
5 Jambusters 1

If you have not checked these packages out, click any of the links above to find out why they are so popular with fellow guitarists worldwide.

Lick Of The Month

You know those times when you hit a nice bend, hold it for a while... and then realise you're nowhere near the end of the solo, and the note is starting to decay?

This month's lick shows a few suggestions.

Without releasing the bend, you can reach up with your 4th finger and hit a higher note (Steve Lukather does this a lot) or tap a note... or even tap and slide!

Have fun!
