For nearly 40 years, legendary rock photographer Neil Zlozower has documented an astonishing who's who of the most influential players of rock and metal guitar from the 1970s to today. Six-String Heroes collects his killer shots of the best players ever to wield an axe, including candid, studio, and live photos of such giants as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Slash, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Dave Navarro, Dimebag Darrell, John Frusciante, Joe Satriani, Angus Young, and many more. With a foreword by Steve Vai, notes by Zlozower, and short texts by some of the guitarists themselves, Six-String Heroes captures the power and technique of the instrument through the lens of its legendary players a must-have for guitar fans everywhere.

Hey , Welcome to the last Track ILU -9-05 the bonus track from my new CD Violet Horizon. I want to first start off that this version in the video does not do the track justice. I did it pretty quick and was not able to mess around with two different delays like the track from the CD was recorded. This to me is very Gilmourist, especially on the CD version. I had that style in mind when composing this track. I did two versions when recording and it was all improvised. The track on the CD is the one we chose to be released.
The track ILU = I love you and the numbers after the title are my wife Carina's birth date. This was inspired by her. In many ways a lot of my material comes from people and things that are around my life all the time.
At the end of the video are some outtakes and some bloopers, which I think are funny. We had to bleep them because I curse a lot lol... Special thanks to Steve and Thom Simonson for doing the filming and the sound. You guys Rock!

Now here’s a tale of skulduggery if ever there was one… When the fine people at Oasis Music in Ringwood, Hampshire heard about The Shadows’ 50th anniversary, they were quick to act: with the blessing of both Hank B Marvin and Bruce Welch, they commissioned a special Stratocaster which was masterbuilt by Greg Fessler at Fender’s Custom Shop and based on Hank’s iconic original. In all, there are only 50 of these beauties being made and then that’s it; no more. So imagine the horror when the delivery man arrived with a large guitar-shaped box with Fender written on it and they opened it to reveal… nothing. That’s right – an empty box! Ouch – and at a retail value of £5000, it’s a pretty big ouch.
It looks like some thieving n’er-do-well had opened the box and taken the guitar while it was in transit between California and Hampshire. So naturally, an appeal has gone out to all traders and guitar enthusiasts alike to be on the lookout for a Custom Shop Master Built Hank Marvin Strat in Flamingo Pink with the number 16 on the neckplate. Anyone who has any information should contact Howard Gillespie at Oasis on 01425 478135 or by email on email@example.com.
The guitar should be easy to spot; for instance, there’s the fact that it’s a master-build and so it has the Custom Shop logo and the maker’s name – Greg Fessler – on the rear of the headstock. It also has gold-plated Kluson tuning heads – and there aren’t too many Strats around with those at the moment. Then there’s the case-candy: a certificate of authenticity which has been signed by both Hank and Bruce Welch, two trem bars (one standard, the other shortened as per Hank’s preference), a repro Fender catalogue from the period (ie late 50s) and a limited edition strap with The Shadows 50th Anniversary logo on it. Stay sharp, people!

ACACIA AVENUE - ACACIA AVENUE
Released January 15th 2010
Acacia Avenue is a new band led by Danish guitarist and songwriter Torben Enevoldsen (Section A, Fatal Force) in the melodic hard rock mold and features vocals from Tony Mills (TNT, Shy), Geir Rönning (Radioactive, Prisoner) and Torben Lysholm (Pangea, Mysterell) with drums by Thomas Heintzelmann (Section A, Decoy) and bass from Carsten Neumann (Savage Affair). Home to a clean punchy production, the album is rich in catchy vocal melodies and strong songs.
The style of the album is a blend of melodic hard rock and AOR. Torben spent most of 2008 writing new music with different people and some of the songs went in this direction. He then decided to pursue this particular style and ended up with around 20 songs and ultimately chose the best ones for what has become the debut Acacia Avenue album.
One the making of the album Torben comments, “The goal was simply to create a really great album, and for me personally, to try to write in a different style to that which I’m usually associated with. It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience. My influences for this album musically were bands like Toto, Giant, Dokken, TNT, Van Halen and so on i.e. Melodic bands with a powerful element to them”.
Tony Mills (TNT, Shy) was the first to join in and together they wrote and recorded “Don’t Call Me Tonight” and “Wait No More”. Geir Rönning (Radioactive, Prisoner) began writing with Torben immediately after and together they penned the songs “Hold On”, “No Looking Back” and “Digging”. whilst Torben Lysholm (Pangea, Mysterell) wrote the lyrics for “Just Wanna Be With You” and also sings lead on “Can’t Make You Stay”. Finally Lars Säfsund (W.O.A.) did the vocals on “An Illusion”. Apart from playing all guitars, bass and keyboards on the album, Torben Enevoldsen sang backing vocals on a few songs and also did the lead vocals on “Jamie´s In Love” and “Let Go”. Thomas Heintzelmann (Section A, Decoy) played all the drums and Carsten Neumann (Savage Affair) helped out with the bass.
The mix was done by Torben Enevoldsen at Funny Farm Studios and the mastering was done by Torben Lysholm at Tune Town.
