Doug Steele, Gary McKay: omnicore

Flatstick was a studio project between 2 guitar teachers, Doug Steele (USA) and Gary McKay (Australia). They've released one album (Omnicore) and were about 80% done with album number 2 when Gary was diagnosed with cancer. Gary died in March, 2006. He is deeply missed.

Gary McKay: lead and rhythm guitars, drums and keys programming, producer, reality gauge, studio owner

Doug Steele: all vocals, lead and rhythm guitar, bass, drum and keys programming

CD was recorded at Gary's house in Heidelberg, Melbourne, Australia.

Extra special thanks to Chris Adler from Lamb of God, who liked the CD so much he tried to get us signed. LOG also played the CD before they performed onstage in the early days. We're eternally grateful. Also a big thanks to Ed Head from Haji's Kitchen, who tried to help us as well.

I think this was our most metal song, ha ha..I liked Engine Number 9 from Deftones, and wanted us to have one..The rhythm was a real fucking asshole to nail, and it took us hours...major cutting/pasting going on. I was very impatient. The lyrics are pretty self explanatory; if you're an asshole, you should die.

Solos: Gary in fusion bit, then myself in metal bit.
