News: Goulding aluminium guitar sustains for ages!

It's no surprise that we would join forces with someone like Anthony Goulding, we are still trying to figure out whether he is an engineer who builds guitars, or a Luthier at heart that happens to be an engineer.

These dramatic eye-catching instruments are the end result by Anthony Goulding, who has combined his many years experience in precision engineering with a love of guitars to create this awesome all-aluminum axe.

Goulding's guitars are build to order custom tailored instruments, so you won't see them hanging in your local music shop. They're based around Gouldings signature body shape, but otherwise just about anything goes.

Any pickup and electronics configuration can be accommodated, as well as different colored anodized finishes, in addition to chrome- and gold-plating and the polished aluminum finish seen on customguitarboutique.com.

The guitar's body starts out as a 2-inch-thick billet of solid aluminium, which is then routed out from the rear. The neck is milled from a separate block of aluminum and attached to the body with four large bolts. The front can be ordered with a ‘German carve' effect around the edge of the body, but you can specify a flat top if you want.

For Hardware, tailpieces and pickup mounting rings you may choose Gouldings designs (gold-plated brass) or you could go traditional with a Bigsby or stoptail.
Standard Pickups on Goulding guitars are Magnetic Humbucking pickups; other options offered are L.R. Braggs piezo bridge which yields a wide range of sounds.

Goulding guitars are shockingly loud when played unplugged. Through an amp, a definite hollowbody resonance comes through but unlike a conventional hollowbody, the guitar is highly resistant to feedback.
