Simon Goldsmith: esgi... tap dancing

Taking my tired, hungover fingers for a spin. Been doing this for a while so thought I may as well film some of it for your amusement. Improvised obviously.

My pop/ dance single is available to download from http://music.esgi.co.uk/album/anything-goes-the-single the single promo video

News: shed reviews gets bigger!

Dave over at shred reviews has updated his web site: http://www.shred-reviews.co.uk/

Dave says:
Time flies and as most web developers will tell you 7 months is an eternity in design….and that happens to be how long Shred Reviews has been operating for. Time for a change….in fact, time for several changes!!

The first and most obvious will be the new look theme with slides/carousels and a much more streamlined overall image. As with anything even vaguely artistic I’m never going to be happy with it for long but hopefully I can maintain a cohesive approach and tweak the final design elements to remain contemporary and easy to navigate.

Secondly – I’m going to be expanding away slightly from the “reviews” roots and hopefully incorporating up-to-the-minute news from the world of Shred and Virtuoso guitar playing, as well as the latest developments in gear and GAS-inducing items. I don’t intend to try and tread on anyones toes here as there are several other websites doing a fantastic job in brining you the latest gossip and wallet-destroying guitars so as ever my focus will remain unbiased and honest reviews in the latest Instructional Media and Albums.

Third – the biggest step. I am going to try to (on advice from a Hairy Dude) start the ball rolling into the wider arena. Reviewing instructional videos is fine….it’s a niche market and I can live with that….but it can be a little limiting and not to mention expensive.

Keith Merrow:
Testing out my new Bernie Rico Jr Jeckyll 7 String. I love this guitar, it's so smooth and easy to play. The song is a new one I'm working on called "Awaken the Stone King". It's a bit sloppy at times, but I'm still working it out.

- AMT R1 Distortion Pedal - Lead Demo - Eric Maldonado -

UPDATE: 5/5/10 - Bruce Bouillet saw this video!
UPDATE: 4/30/10 - Andy Timmons saw this video!

Here is what Andy Timmons said:
"Nice playing bro...keep it up!" - Andy Timmons

Here is what Bruce Bouillet said:
"Well done ......great overall control..."

Here is a demo for the awesome pedal that AMT sent me, the AMT R1 Rectifier!!

This pedal is great, is has cabinet simulation and great feel. It really feels like your playing a real amp. Even when you roll down the volume on the guitar it cleans up.

The song is one of my originals that will be on my album.

AMT Electronics Legend Amps R1:

The R1 Legend Amp Series pedal, one of most sought after high gain modern amplifiers now in pedal form, the Mesa Triple Rectifer*. Huge ultra modern distortion tone now able to fit on your crowded pedalboard. Sparkling tight chunky rhythm that will impress even the most demanding ears, and cutting powerful leads to make you stand out through any mix. If you're the player who likes your gain on 10, then this one goes to 11+.

- The AMT Legend Amp Series guitar pedals provide excellent dynamics, nuances, and characteristics similar to that of tube driven amplifiers.
- Tube-like range of volume control provides great sound density, playability, and power when playing at full volume and also in conjunction with your guitars volume knob.
- TRUE BYPASS. The preamps of the Legend Amp Series pedals use passive true bypass circuitry, therefore no loss of guitar signal is noticed in your pedal chain. Similar to if no pedal was there at all when bypassed.
- Features high level of output signal (+10dB in extreme position of Level knob) corresponds to the output levels similar of tube preamps. Thus, you have adjustable signal level allowing to hook up your preamp AND direct input of a power amplifier.
- Controls include LEVEL, GAIN, LOW, MID, and HIGH.
- TWO signal outputs: DIRECT AMPLIFIER OUT for guitar amplifier use and CAB SIMULATION OUT for mixer, or studio use.
- Power saving mode. When the speaker simulation output jack is not in use, the pedal automatically switches to power saving mode. Current consumption (from 9V power unit) is less than 6mА (in power saving mode it drops to 4mА).

AMT Electronics Legend Amp Series, the NEW STANDARD of Heavy Guitar Tone.

BLOWING AWAY THE COMPETITION.

This pedal is definetly worth checking out. So is everything else AMT makes!!!
