Andy Wood: in clinic at the Raleigh Music Academy

Andy Wood gave a performance clinic on July 22, 2010 at the Raleigh Music Academy and performed Lie by Dream Theater (at Paul Warren's request - ha!). It was a lot of fun to give it a go after playing all of Andy's music and we only had one quick rehearsal to try it, so be kind. :-) A special thanks to summer workshop participant Chris Vickery for learning this at the last moment and jumping up there and doing it with us.

The band was comprised of Andy Wood (lead guitar), Chris Vickery (vocals), Paul Warren (guitar), Jeff Nelson (bass) and Lindsey Tims (drums).

News: why youtube video counts stop at 300

Liz from YouTube says:
Recently we have seen questions about why some YouTube video view counts "freeze" around 300 views. To help prevent confusion, we wanted to post a quick explanation of what's going on. View counts are extremely important to our community, so we work hard to ensure those view counts are accurate. Occasionally, when a video becomes popular quickly, it takes our computers longer to make sure those views are accurate. This means a video's viewcount may not update for several hours, sometimes allowing ratings and comments on the same video to climb temporarily higher than the views. So if you see your video views aren't moving, or that your video's comments and ratings are moving faster than your views, don't worry. If you're still getting views, the count should update soon. more

George Stergiou: how to create a backing track using Cubase

Many of us make backing tracks to assist us in practicing chops, scales, routines, teach parts from songs or to give them to our band members in order to elaborate their parts if we don’t have the luxury of regular rehearsals. The difficulty of creating a backing track can range from very easy to very complicated depending on the quality and complexity that we are after (possible mixing – mastering). This article is going to introduce you to all the basic steps needed to get a very easily made backing track... and it's going to be done as a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) based recording. [more]
