Christie’s sale of the Richard Gere Guitar Collection achieved $936,438 and was 96 percent sold by lot and 91 percent by value. The top lot of the sale was a 1960 solid-body Les Paul electric guitar by Gibson Incorporated, Kalamazoo, MI, realizing $98,500. Other top sales included a 1931 Martin D-28 ($62,000) and a 1958 Gibson Flying V once owned by Albert King ($74,500) more.
