2011: From January till March Ana moves to New Orleans to record her 6th studio album, and 3rd Eclecto Groove release. The record features New Orleans very best musicians like Ana's slide idol Sonny Landreth and Jon Cleary on B3 and piano. Also incredible harp player Jason Ricci makes a guest appearance.
In July Ana is honored to appear as a special guest at BB-King's German shows. During the summer The Ana Popovic band is scheduled for an impressive 35 summer festivals all over Europe and the USA. The song 'One Room Country Shack' recorded at Unconditional, is the Pick-Of-The-Week in US today, American's biggest national newspaper. Unconditional makes it to Billboard Blues Charts for 9 weeks peeking at #7. The album is at # 70 at Amazon's all music bestsellers list and # 1 at Amazon's contemporary Blues bestsellers list. Popper (Blues Traveler) Walter Trout and many others.
Ana Popović's father first introduced her to the blues, through an extensive record collection and sessions hosted at the family home. Popović founded her first band at age nineteen. Within a year, she was playing outside of her home county Yugoslavia and opening shows for American blues musicians such as Junior Wells. Her band, Hush, released the album Hometown in 1998. The next year, Popović relocated to Amsterdam, Netherlands, to study jazz and world guitar at the Conservatory. In 2000, Popović formed the 'Ana Popovic Band' that became a fixture on the Dutch blues scene, and ventured into neighboring Germany. Popović signed with the German based Ruf Records, and released three albums; Hush! (2001), Comfort to the Soul (2003) and Ana! (2005: live CD & DVD).
In 2003, Popović was nominated for a W. C. Handy Award in the United States.
In 2006, Popović signed a recording contract with the Los Angeles, California, based EclectoGroove Records (a division of Delta Groove Music.) For EclectoGroove she recorded a further three albums: Still Making History (2007), Blind For Love (2009) and Unconditional (2011). Both Still Making History and Unconditional reached number one in the United States Billboard Blues Chart.
Today, Popović and her four-piece band are booked all over the globe, playing major blues / jazz and rock festivals. She has shared a stage with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Solomon Burke, Jonny Lang, Sonny Landreth, Ronnie Earl, Koko Taylor and Robert Cray.

EAGLE ROCK ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS - THE ROLLING STONES CAUGHT LIVE AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME SOME GIRLS LIVE IN TEXAS 1978
LIVE CONCERT OUT ON DVD AND BLU-RAY OUT NOW!
Continuing their partnership with the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world, Eagle Rock Entertainment have announced the DVD and Blu-Ray release of The Rolling Stones Some Girls Live in Texas 1978. Available for the first time ever on November 21, Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 features Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman live in concert during the 1978 US tour which followed the release of their groundbreaking album Some Girls.
Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 comes hot on the heels of the huge success of 2010’s Stones in Exile and Ladies & Gentlemen and marks the next stage in the Eagle Vision / Rolling Stones enterprise. Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 will be available on four different formats: DVD, Blu-Ray, plus special edition DVD + CD and Blu-Ray + CD digipack presentations including a reproduction tour program. Bonus features on all formats will include a new interview with Mick Jagger.
Capturing The Rolling Stones at their live best, and fully restored to the highest level of picture and sound quality, Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 was filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Forth Worth, Texas on July 18, 1978 on what many fans consider to be one of the band’s greatest tours. This was due to the band’s ‘back to basics’ approach both musically and visually, as the shows were stripped back compared to previous tours, harnessing the new punk rock attitude of the late 70s.
Showcasing many songs from the Some Girls album, celebrated for being the Rolling Stones’ most direct and diverse collection of music, and which by the time the band arrived in Texas, had gone to the top of the US charts, this concert demonstrates the sheer force and raw energy of The Rolling Stones live on stage.
Some Girls songs like “Miss You,” “Respectable,” “Beast Of Burden,” “When The Whip Comes Down,” and “Shattered,” weave into a set list which also includes “All Down The Line,” “Honky Tonk Women,” “Tumbling Dice,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Happy,” and “Brown Sugar.”
Originally shot on 16mm film, the concert footage has been carefully restored with the sound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multi track tapes.

Tonight in Manchester my friend Guthrie Govan played with us. He's a very fine guitarist with superhuman precision. I enjoyed having him onstage. I kept suggesting different musical styles for him to play over and he nailed all of them. Country, Lounge Jazz, super wristy funk and a Classical Etude. Then he let loose on a crazy yet musical solo before we played a few notes together.
Next on the agenda: File a Police report to block this weekend's UK auction of Frank's stolen Gold Top Gibson Les Paul. We have evidence that it was stolen and we hope to get this instrument back in the family's hands after all these years. more http://www.dweezilzappaworld.com/posts/1273-stolen-guitar-and-food
Pointy Guitar is designed to present a singularly sculpted vision of guitar-oriented music and to warehouse tasty bits from here and there. Pointy Guitar is the domain/hobby/vice of Troy Van Horn. He began obsessing over guitar in some other century—likely the 20th—and has yet to stop. In addition to Pointy, Troy’s music ravings can be found at Hardened Magazine and elsewhere on the web. He can be heard playing guitar around Kansas City, Mo. and beyond. As of this writing, Van Horn is listening to Savage Amusement by the Scorpions, a very questionable choice indeed.

written and improvised in Dadgad Pete, playing in open-tunings allows me to play intervals you normally wouldnt choose, its a handful working it out back in standard tuning but worth it from an inventive point of view.I write everything with this process in mind, it allows me to forget all patterns, live in the moment and enjoy the creative process, enjoy
