Richard Peikoff: fingerstyle guitarist solo CD

Richard Peikoff represents a truly unique voice on the guitar. His delicate and precise fingerstyle and slide
technique creates a sound that is at once hauntingly beautiful, contemplative and uplifting.
Throughout his musical life he has studied and collaborated with great musicians from all over the world, and his music is as textured and varied as the locations and people that have inspired it.
Richard’s teachers and collaborators include fingerstyle great Martin Simpson and renowned American guitarist Isaac Guillory, both of whom he met while living in London. During that time he also studied with Indian Sarod teacher Ratnakar Vyas. This was not his first exposure to Indian classical music however. Sitarist Hari Har Rao (an early student of Ravi Shankar and founder of the Ravi Shankar Music Circle), and 5 time Grammy nominated sarod virtuoso Ali Akbar Khan were teachers who would also have a profound influence on his slide guitar style. Other influences include John Fahey, The Beatles, Jerry Douglas, Ram Narayan, John McLaughlin, Ralph Towner, and Earl Scruggs.

Drawing upon his extensive knowledge of the musical traditions of both east and west, Richard Peikoff has created an expansive musical space in which to immerse ourselves.
