Fred Brum: Wampler Triple Wreck pedal demo

My album Atonement is available (along with a free downloadable track athttp://fredbrum.com/atonement/ - please give it a listen. :)

The kind folks at Wampler pedals sent me a couple of their high gain units to demo, the first of which is this lovely - and rather punishing - distortion box, that follows Wampler's renowned "amp tone in a box" philosophy, this time taking (as the name implies) the good old Rectos as the base.

Guitar used is my dark blue Jaden Rose Spider 8-string, which was used on the original recording of the songs, and there is no post-EQ involved. Pedal was plugged straight into a Silverblade Hellhound, with the addition of a Wampler Faux Tape Echo to provide ambience for the melody and lead lines. Cab is one of my trusty Zilla 2x12"'s with SM57 picking up the K-100 speaker.

I opted to have an unpolished, in your face sound, more akin to what I tend to look for in Rectifiers, although the broader range in the Triple Wreck's settings allowed me to get some cool "not-so-recto" tones as well.
