RHPII – with Alex Machacek! Alex rips it up on the track ‘Wristkiller’. The track is written by our mighty bassplayer Fritzie Fritz Frans Vollink who must have gotten some kind of kick out of the idea that guitarplayers would break their fingers trying to figure out a fingering for the theme.... thx Frans! #-/ I have been aware of Alex for quite some time and always seemed to enjoy his playing an

d composition skills. Austrian Machacek is probably best known for his 1999 debut album 'Featuring Ourselves'. His 2004 release '24 Tales' with drummer Marco Minnemann is a true masterpiece and a must have for everyone interested in composing, rhythms, melodies and great guitarplaying. He is critically acclaimed by the likes of John McLaughlin and the late Shawn Lane for his innovative style and the ease with which he shifts from legato to staccato. Currently, he is playing for Planet X, which toured in Greece and Armenia in November, 2008, and with the Virgil Donati Band. He also had the pleasure of subbing for none other then Allan Holdsworth in the legendary band UK on their last 2012 tour.I have actually played with Alex before onSebastiaan Cornelissen's album U-turn. But this time it's finally on the same track!
