Tommy Emmanuel: Live from Musicians Institute

GuitarTV Presents: Tommy Emmanuel Live from Musicians Institute

Jose de Castro: Moments CD details

Jose de Castro (guitar); Jose Vera (bass); Enzo Filippone (drums); featuring Jacob Sureda and Alex Garcia

Moments is the fifth instrumental album of this amazing spanish guitarist. As in his previous works, the mix of styles and his personality playing are the main feature of this work. They are 12 tracks with rock sound that go from the slowest blues to the subtlest and most complex fussion, going from accoustic moments to beautiful half times. As the album sound as the track performance are awesome. Jose, one more time, shows that he can play different music styles and make (them) theirs with the personal style that characterizes him.

The perfect mix between vintage and modern sounds!!! Again, we are in front of an instrumental record where the songs /tracks are unforgettable.

Dave Kilminster: Guitar Planet interview

Are you and Murray planning to release an album together or is this a special treat for those lucky enough to catch you on tour?
We've already recorded the album. It's an album of cover tunes called 'Closer to Earth', and should be out in a couple of weeks time. Probably just as a download on iTunes first, but then later we'll get CD's made up for our proposed US/Canadian tour later in the year.

News: Great British Guitar Show end of February 2012

UK Musicshows Ltd has revealed a raft of new exhibitors for its Great British Guitar Show on 25-26 February.

Big names recently confirmed for the inaugural GBGS include Yamaha and Orange amplification, Paul Reed Smith Guitars, Brian May Guitars, TC Electronic, Elixir strings, Overwater and The Bass Centre.

UK Musicshows’ Jason Castle said, “We’re really pleased that so many of the guitar industry’s biggest brands will be taking part in the Great British Guitar Show in February. We always wanted GBGS to showcase all that’s great in our industry, from electric and acoustic guitars to bass gear, amplification and accessories – it’s going to make for a great weekend for exhibitors and visitors alike.

Virgil Donati,Thomas Lang: Big Drum Bonanza gets more drumming fire power

In case you haven't heard the great news -- Drum Goliath Dave Elitch of The Mars Volta and the incredible Chris Coleman (Stanley Clark/Chaka Khan) are joining Virgil Donati (Steve Vai/Planet X) in the line up for the 1st Annual Big Drum Bonanza June 25th - 29th in Thousand Oaks, CA! We couldn't be more excited to have drummers of this caliber in the house for our very first year.

We also wanted to share with you our decision to move the camp from New York to California.

Well, it's pretty simple... The Thomas Lang Drumming Boot Camps have been my baby for three years now and it's something I take a lot of pride in. Moving the camp to New York and partnering with someone else meant that we didn't have as much say in how much things cost -- or what we could offer the campers for the price.

While the camping and shared room options at the New York location were lower in cost, at the end of a long day of hands-on drumming -- we think it's VITAL that our campers have a private room and shower relax and get ready for another big day. Plus, we think you need access to cell phones signals and free wifi to stay on top of things and make your friends jealous by posting cool pictures of yourself with Dave, Virgil & Chris on Facebook!

So in order to give everyone a private room at a reasonable price, we moved the camp to thePalm Garden hotel in Thousand Oaks, California.

What does this mean??

It means that EVERY camper gets a private room -- for $900.00 cheaper than we could offer in New York.

It also means that we have access to more amazing instructors who can take part in the camp.

Better rooms?
More teachers?
Cheaper price???
...Sound good? We thought so!

The BDB is like the Thomas Lang Drumming Boot Camp on STEROIDS! We will be hands-on, drumming boot camps style -- everyone on their own practice kits -- as well as all the additional instruction, performances and presentations. This camp is going to KILL and there's NOTHING out there like it.

Why would you sit and listen to blah...blah.. blah... when you can BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!?

I hope we will see you in June in California. If you have any questions, please visitwww.bigdrumbonanza.com drop us an email at info@bigdrumbonanza.com

Scott Henderson http://www.abstractlogix.com/xcart/product.php?productid=25442&cat=277&page=1

Releasing March 27

Scott Henderson (Guitar); Gary Willis (Bass); Scott Kinsey (Keys); Kirk Covington (Drums)

On “X”, the members of Tribal Tech, Scott Henderson, Gary Willis, Scott Kinsey and Kirk Covington once again throw convention out the window, entering the studio without a set list of heavy arrangements. Instead each member brought musical sketches to the table and they turned on the tape machines and bravely set out to play together as a unit.

Scott Henderson, bassist Gary Willis, keyboardist Scott Kinsey and drummer Kirk Covington are each critically acclaimed on their instruments, culminating in a sound that is uniquely their own. As well, each artist keeps busy working on their own individual musical projects.

Tribal Tech have delivered perhaps the most phenomenal recording of their impressive 25+ year history as a band. This album embraces the group dynamic. Only when you have a rich band history forged by virtuoso musicians, can you achieve the kind of synergistic genius that Tribal Tech reach on “X”.

Neils Vejlyt: 8 Finger Tapping Extreme Shred with tab

TABS: http://www.nielsvejlyt.com/index/8-finger-tapping-extreme-shred-how-to-shred-...Hey guys, here is some extreme shredding for you, its a really fun but also extremely challenging to play because first of all you are playing four fingers on both hands on the fretboard and also its played way low on the fretboard so you really need to practice your stretching for this one. I consider this style of shred guitar licks to be some of the toughest to not only play but also to be able to damp the rest of the strings while playing it, the keyword here is accuracy, because theres not much you can do to damp while both hands are on the fretboard with all four fingers. The chance you do have to damp when you are doing the 8 finger tapping part is to while you are skipping the strings from the A string to the B string you have a little time to position your right hand palm to clean up your playing. So my advice to you if you want to master shred guitar like this is not surprisingly PRACTICE like a maaadman !!! Notice that when I play the triad arpeggio in the first part of the lick I use the long finger and the little finger for this, and that is because I like to keep the pick close if im playing other techniques while improvising for example so I can quickly move between techniques without having to find the pick again. If you have experience with arpeggio tapping then you will also observe that playing Triads with tapping is way more challenging than four note arpeggios simply because the intervals between the notes in the triads are larger, so even though notewise the arpeggio is simpler than a four note arpeggio the technique to execute it is much harder. I hope you love it !!
