Aleks Sever: itunes and amazon CD available

Aleks Sever: Danger Girl

“Aleks Sever is a powerful new artist/guitarist that deserves to be heard in a big way. Her feeling and soulfulness on the guitar is astonishing. Her roots in soul music are very deep… Very, very deep. Check out Aleks Sever… You won’t be disappointed and your mouth will probably drop open like mine did :-)” —Lee Ritenour

You don't hear much about female guitar instrumentalists, but one who has caught my attention is Aleks Sever. A fixture on the Los Angeles music scene for nearly a decade, Aleks has taken styles from the likes of Prince and Jeff Beck, and mixed in lots of funky and bluesy grooves, into a debut album that is sure to distinguish her amongst those few female instrumentalists. guitar girl magazine

News: Before the Music Dies - kind of makes you think don't it?

Plot Summary for
Before the Music Dies

With outstanding performances and revealing interviews Before the Music Dies takes a critical look at the homogenization of popular music with commentary by some of the industry's biggest talents like Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews, Elvis Costello, Erykah Badu, Branford Marsalis, Bonnie Raitt and more. Using historic footage the film looks at the evolution of American music and the artists who created it and pulls back the curtain (in a very creative way) to expose the sad truth behind today's "artificial" music stars. "The reality is that superficiality is in," says Marsalis. "And depth and quality is kind of out." Inspired by the death of his brother, director Andrew Shapter and his crew traveled thousands of miles, visiting dozens of cities, speaking with hundreds of fans, journalists, record executives and musicians while searching for "real" American music. What they found were mega-talents without a major label, including one artist Eric Clapton believes is "the real thing." Written by Anonymous

Panzerballett of Germany has just released a new album, Tank Goodness. The band's fifth release boasts guest appearances featuring Randy Brecker, Conny Kreitmeier, Ron van Lankeren, and Mattias 'IA' Eklundh.

Some have reported head shaking as an early side-effect that mostly, after prolonged exposure, develops into smiling and sometimes even rapturous laughter.

Giant Steps (J. Coltrane) is included on the Tank Goodness.

Christian Muenzner: caution - faces were melted in the making of these videos

Excerpt from a late night practice session. This is the solo section of the song "The Gunslinger" from my solo album "Timewarp". On the album this is a guitar duel with Ryan Knight, I'm improvising on Ryan's solo section here. On my sections I stay close to what I played on the album. Please excuse my silly shred faces ;)

The Gunslinger Solo Section + Improv

Me rehearsing the song "Wastelands" from my solo album "Timewarp". For the video purpose I cut it down to around 3 and a half minutes. Again, some pretty stupid faces during some sections.
On a side note, since 3 years I suffer from a degenerative neurologic playing disorder called "Focal Dystonia" which affects my fretting hand and makes 1 2 finger combination in single note lines impossible, so please excuse some weird fingerings.

Christian Muenzner Wastelands practice

Since I didn't have a chance so far to perform the Incurso material live with Spawn Of Possession, I decided to post a video of me playing the solo to this song.
On a side note, since 3 years a suffer from a degenerative neurologic playing disorder called Focal Dystonia which affects my left hand middle finger and makes 1 2 finger combintaions in single note lines impossible for me, so please excuse some weird fingerings.

Hi, It's Paul Wardingham here. Big thanks to Rick for inviting me to be the featured on his very first Saturday Shoutout. For those who don't know I'm primarily known as a solo artist, in particular for my debut instrumental album 'Assimilate Regenerate' released last year on Enigmatic Records, but also as one half of the Collins/ Wardingham Project a progressive metal fusion collaboration with australian drummer Grant Collins. I'm also known as a producer, session guitarist and educator having taught thousands of students all over the world. I was featured on Guitar Messenger for my video lesson 'Future Metal Shred' which showcases some of my lead guitar concepts. I am an EMG endorser ( My main guitar is an Ibanez RGD 2127z loaded with EMG 707 pickups. I'm currently in the process of recording a follow up to Assimilate Regenerate, a cyber metal concept album titled 'The Human Affliction' which is going to feature some exciting guest appearances from some incredible guitar players.

George Lynch: Don Dokken "I'm done, I'm tired of playing with George" When all the things were happening between you and [former DOKKEN guitarist] George Lynch, with the turmoil and the tension, did you ever think about giving up on this business and just saying, "I'm done. I'm tired of all this fighting"?

Don: No. I mean, I just thought, I'm done, I'm tired of playing with George. Because here we were at the top of our careers, we're becoming superstars, and every day we should've been kissing the ground and saying, "Thank you, God, for this blessing that we've been so lucky to have a successful career and you've got one guy in the band that's like completely always trying to make it unpleasant and miserable." It was really sad, you know. He ruined my dream because he just complained constantly. I think it was just his personality. Some people thrive on misery and I don't. And that was our big problem, with George and I. So yeah, when I broke the band up in 1988, I said, "I just can't take it anymore." We're doing great, we're playing stadiums, hundred thousand people a day, and every day there's a problem, every day there's complaining, every day there is drugs and arguments and it just made it a really unpleasant experience. It's kind of sad.

Marques Junior: two original tracks posted

Marques Junior was born in Rio de Janeiro and had contact with music since childhood. At seven years of age began to take its first chords on the guitar from his cousins, who influenced him with bossa nova. A few years later, around the age of thirteen he began to listen to bands like Metallica, Iron Maidem among other metal bands.

Over the years decided to study music seriously. Listened to musicians like Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, Impellitter, Al Di Meola and Greg Howe. Developed rapidly thirteen hours a day studying, playing with various bands and ministries of your city. Later improved if listening to jazz and fusion as Frank Gambale, Scotty Henderson and Tal Farlow.

Throughout his career, Marques Junior played a big role, playing with Chris Duran, Baby Brazil, Oficina G3, Sacred Fruit and others. Today, it has a prominent channel in Youtube website with more than 116,000 views, 800,000 video views and 2200 subscribers to your channel.
