Le CIAM joins the Institute’s International Partners Network

The Institute is delighted to announce that Bordeaux-based music school Le CIAM has joined the Institute’s international partners’ network as an Associate School.

Le CIAM has been a leading French school in the field of Contemporary Music Education for nearly 30 years. The school delivers a range of specialist technical and creative programmes which lead to awards recognised by the French government.

The school boasts a fully-functional venue within its premises providing all students with regular performance opportunities, both as performers on stage and as technicians and support staff off-stage.

The ever-growing International Partner’s Network is identifying and connecting schools throughout the world that share the same values and commitment to quality education. Through the Network schools are able to share good practice, provide support and guidance on development, promote the value of contemporary music education and provide exciting developmental opportunities to all students, the last being the overarching and ultimate aim of the project.

The network is structured to allow schools at a range of stages of development to join and interact with each other.

Pete Whittard, International Development Director at the Institute, commented; ‘CIAM have a wealth of experience in contemporary music education, and we look forward to the positive contribution that they can make to the network and its growing number of partners ’

Le CIAM’s Director of Pedagogy, Stéphane Alaux commented “It is a great honour for the CIAM, its teachers and its students to collaborate with the Institute as Associate Partners. It will undoubtable broaden both institutions pedagogical and cultural horizons”
