Dutch Guitarist, Marc “Scarescone” Meesters new CD project “Insanium”

Scarescone started out as a solo project by Dutch guitarist Marc Meesters with the goal of creating a vehicle to record and perform his own material. After getting together with Thimo Gijezen (bass), Eric Brugmans (Guitar) and Dennis Meentz (Drums)and after doing a few gigs together it quicklybecame clear that there was a lot of chemistry between them and at that point Scarescone was born.

The band went into the studio in early 2012 to record their first CD "psycho" and released this as an indie production later that year. In 2012 the band toured the UK, Holland and Germany and gained quite a bit of press attention. Since then they have been playing regularly and have written enough material for the follow up CD that will be titled “Insanium”.

"Insanium" features all new material written in 2012 and early 2013 and includes guest artists, Cindy Oudshoorn ( Kayak) and Dennis Leeflang ( Bumblefoot). The album will include the track “Epilogue” that Marc wrote as a tribute to the late Shawn Lane. This track resulted in Marc being invited by the Lane family to perform at the Shawn Lane Memorial concert in Memphis last year. Later this year Scarescone will be touring the UK, Mainland Europe, USA and possibly Australia.

The band is currently running a crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo to fund the making of the CD. The band has a label and worldwide distribution lined up and according to Marc “the only thing missing is the funds needed to finish the album”. Once done the band are planning to release "Insanium" as a CD as well as producing a limited edition LP on Vinyl.
