AWOUEILLE ! I have just received my new pickups from mister Johan Lundgren and I wanted to make a little comparison video.
- First shot is my Ibanez SA160 with stock Axis series pickups, the AH4 and AS2 :
The SA160 is probably not the most expensive guitar around there but as you can see the stock pickups are very good and do the job perfectly. This guitar will probably stay one of my favorite "Go To" guitar.
- Second shot is exactly the same guitar but with Lundgren Pickups "The One" and "60s Vintage" :
As usual, you never go wrong with Lundgren. The humbucker is bright and clear without lacking aggression if you need it. The single coil is also very creamy and you could definitely use it for twangy rhythmics as well.
Both shots have been tracked and mixed EXACTLY the same way :
- Guitar / Pod X3 / Apogee Duet 2
- Slight post EQing + D82 Sonic Maximiser
- Drums are "superior drummer" with some drumagog sampled layers
- Bass is DI
