Me & Leonardo came up with the idea of gathering some of our friends to jam in one video. Thankfully they had the time to jam with us and we thank everyone! You all rock!
Andre Nieri, Dhalif Ali, Fayeed Tan, Hedras Ramos & Leonardo Guzman jam!
For me one of the best melodic instrumental albums ever made. In the top 4 of the the best shred albums ever made according to guitar world. Difficult to believe this album is almost 30 years old.
This selection of videos are from the continuing live tour of the Tony MacAlpine, featuring the exceptionally talented Nili Brosh... the only guitar player of recent times that made me blush.

Hello, and welcome to my new GW instructional column. It's good to be back! I hope the ideas and concepts I present here in the coming months will give you inspiration and insight into your own path to musical creativity.
The most important thing I can say is that you should always strive to make your own distinct musical statement with what you play on the guitar.
Once you've learned from the examples I present in this column, I would like you to completely disregard the examples themselves and retain only the techniques contained within them.
As soon as you get the idea of where I'm coming from with a certain lick or phrase, I want you to change it into something of your own invention and tap into your own creative curiosity as quickly and fully as possible.
For the tabs to this lesson, be sure to check out the new June 2014 issue of GW!

|Toomas Vanem: debut album "1"|
He has surrounded himself with awesome musicians, to bring his musical creations to life. On this album there are amazing musicians involved –"the groovy brothers" terrific drummer Andrus Lillepea and always excellent Henno Kelp on a bass. And yes, this is true- the absolutely fabulous Mr Stuart Hamm’s virtuosity is presented on tune called “Gravity of Eiffel Tower”!
The performances are stunning and the sound and production is huge. The music is unique and although it hits you immediately, there are lots of layers to discover with repeated listening.
It is almost unbelieveable how such heavy and powerful, sometimes even scary metal riffs with odd timings, can create a philosophical and meditative condition! The short legends of the songs on the CD’s cover booklet will help you to get even deeper touch with the music. The music of this album is a great example of a musician aiming to achieve the best he is capable of both in creativity and performance.
This first solo release from Toomas Vanem will really shake you up on many different levels and provide experiences you will wish to have repeatedly! Listen to this album if you are a fan of guitar virtuosity that focuses on creating memorable music!
Eric Clapton: 'Journeyman' Album with George Harrison, Chaka Khan, Daryl Hall, Robert Cray, Phil Collins Now Available On Hybrid SACD
Eric Clapton's 'Journeyman' Album Feat. George Harrison, Chaka Khan, Daryl Hall, Robert Cray, Phil Collins and others Now Available On Hybrid SACD
"Camarillo, CA - Much to the elation of Eric Clapton fans across the globe, Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity has released Clapton's 'Journeyman' album as a limited numbered edition Hybrid SACD! Eric Clapton is a true legend. 'Journeyman' reached #16 on the Billboard album chart and became Clapton's first solo studio album to go double platinum. Like any of his best albums, there is no grandstanding to be found on 'Journeyman'...it's simply a laid-back and thoroughly engaging display of his virtuosity. The album was heralded as a return to form for Clapton, much of it has an electronic sound, mostly influenced by the 1980s rock scene, but it also includes blues songs like “Before You Accuse Me,” “Running on Faith,” and “Hard Times.”
“At the center of it all is Clapton's guitar work...stinging blues and soaring pop.”
There is an all-star assembly of guests: Dire Straits keyboardist Alan Clark, George Harrison, Chaka Khan, Daryl Hall, Robert Cray, Cecil and Linda Womack, Phil Collins and Gary Burton. Among the highlights are several cuts that feature slide-versus-slowhand guitar dueling with Cray. George Harrison is particularly impressive on his little masterpiece “Run So Far,” playing guitar and singing harmony vocals.
A couple of tracks rank among Clapton's best from any decade. The strongest commercial single is “Bad Love,” which won the 1990 Best Male Rock Vocal Performance Grammy Award, and reached the No. 1 position on the Album Rock Chart. “Pretending” is a firm mid-tempo rocker that also reached the No. 1 position on the Album Rock Chart and and includes one of his most assured vocal performances ever.
Clapton sounds more convincing than he had since the early '70s. Not only is his guitar playing muscular and forceful, his singing is soulful and gritty - he seems to have struck the perfect balance between the fiery blues of his youth with the pop flavorings of his later years.

Ahead of the release of his forthcoming studio album GOIN’ HOME on Monday May 5th, five-time Grammy-nominated blues/rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd has today made “You Can’t Judge A Book By The Cover”, taken from the new album, available to fans as a free MP3 download.
Stream and download the track for free by clicking here – http://bit.ly/1ii6fol
On Wednesday April 30th, Shepherd will perform a sold-out concert at London’s O2 Academy Islington. He will be available for face to face interviews in London during the day.
GOIN’ HOME is an exploration into the music of Kenny Wayne’s biggest influences, and features songs originally recorded by many of his musical heroes, such as B.B. King, Albert King, Bo Diddley,Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny "Guitar" Watson and Lee Dorsey. Kenny reached deep into their catalogues and chose songs that inspired him when he was learning to play the guitar.
The new studio album follows Kenny Wayne’s involvement in the blues/rock supergroup THE RIDES, which features Shepherd alongside Stephen Stills (CSN / CSN&Y / Buffalo Springfield) and Barry Goldberg (Electric Flag). Their 2013 album "Can’t Get Enough" was critically acclaimed the world over and appeared in countless "Best Of 2013" album polls.
