Recently I've been practicing improvised Baroque modulations. It's not dissimilar to jazz harmony practice..but different.
So I tweaked my Eventide H9's Delay for a pitched (octave down) repeat followed by a regular (non pitched) repeat to recreate a Baroque-style Canon Fugue counterpoint effect.
Needless to say this (the repeat) limits harmonic shifts (change of chords) since it often leads to "clashing" notes.
Which makes the whole thing more like playing chess really-quite structured and needing "informed" choices.
The setting would work even better for a written piece!
That's it. Cheers. N
