With a range of influences from Dream Theater, Rush, YES to artists such as Michael Manring & Stu Hamm, "Into THE BASS" is an eclectic mix of instrumental tracks that shows the potential of the bass as more than a rhythm instrument. An aural journey of melody and groove that showcases a wide variety of genres covering progressive, rock, ambient and experimental, while maintaining the artist’s distinctive style.
The texture of the album is enriched by the participation of top class musicians such as Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree), Michael Manring, John Macaluso (ex Yngwie Malmsteen, ARK), amongst others.

“Into THE BASS” CD has been included in the March 2015 issue of Bass Guitar Magazine (UK) and Bassiste Magazine (France)

“An album full of bass excellence” - Joel McIver (author and music critic)

John Fogerty: Announces Additional "1969" U.S. Tour Dates

1969 - The Year Fogerty Wrote & Recorded - For CCR - Three Seminal Albums
Autobiography Set To Be Released This Fall
(Los Angeles)  JOHN FOGERTY’s highly-anticipated world-wide “1969” tour is pleased to announce additional U.S. dates.  Beginning May 2nd with a special appearance at the Beale Street Music Festival, the tour will continue to the east coast with stops in North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina before heading south to Florida with shows in St. Augustine, Tampa and W. Palm Beach.  FOGERTY’s “1969” continues throughout May, June and July with a previously announced show at the iconic Hollywood Bowl, scheduled for July 15th.    Additional summer dates will be announced shortly, with the U.S. portion of the “1969” tour set to conclude in August.
The “1969” World Tour began last November with a cross-country trek of Canada.  Seventeen shows in all, many of which sold-out, and the crowds were screaming for more.  Fogerty’s “1969” Tour was named one of the Top 20 Global Concert Tours of 2014 by Pollstar. Praise for FOGERTY’s delivery, as well as for his exceptionally talented band, came from the Hamilton Spectator, stating:  “… this band that Fogerty is fronting now is probably better than that little four-piece garage band known as Creedence Clearwater Revival.”
FOGERTY’s music, his lyrics and his voice, resounded through an amazing and never-duplicated release of three separate albums with Creedence Clearwater Revival (Bayou CountryGreen Riverand Willy and the Poor Boys). In that year – 1969 - FOGERTY gave the nation, even the world, an emotional and intellectual marker forever burned within our collective psyche. Now, in his 69th year, FOGERTY is calling us back, to re-invigorate those ties that bind us, with his upcoming “1969” World Tour
FOGERTY has also been hard at work on his first autobiography, which is now set for release this fall.

Oli Brown: UK's Raveneye set for US debut release featuring the talented blues player

“(Brown is)…the hottest young pistol in British Blues” - Mojo Magazine

“…this is a rock band and a brilliant one at that.” - Uk’s Rock & Roll Creations
(Los Angeles) RAVENEYE, the UK-based rock trio featuring critically acclaimed guitarist/vocalist Oli Brown, drummer Kev Hickman and bassist Aaron Spiers are eyeing a take-over of the U.S. rock scene when they release their debut EP, “Breaking Out” on April 28th via Rook Recordings. Amazingly, formed just a year ago by 25-year old multi-award winning guitar/singer Brown, the band has already assailed European audiences with their signature rhythmically-heavy riffs and incendiary live performances. The reviews have been stellar and the band has been featured a number of times on the BBC.

Before forming RAVENEYE, Oli Brown spent ten years touring the world under his own name and in that time he released four albums, establishing himself as one of the most formidable guitarists/front men on the UK scene. Classic Rock Magazine called Brown “one of the best and brightest guitar heroes performing in the world today.” His work as a solo artist prior to RavenEye also earned him supporting gigs alongside such artists as Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter and Joe Satriani, but being part of a band was what Browncraved.

“I’ve been looking to find the right people to get together with for so long; it’s something we’ve all had a craving for individually,” says Brown, “I’m finally performing with two killer musicians, who are wicked on stage and are also close friends, it’s amazing how music can make people connect so differently.”

The EP’s first single, and title track, “Breaking Out,” evokes thoughts of early Kyuss and Soundgarden – hard melodic rock with thoughtful lyrics that will stick with you long after the song ends. As soon as the song was recorded, it defined what RavenEye’s musical foundation would be - heavy, hard and fuzzed out rock. The song is about “breaking out” of personal conformities. The lyric, “I am the soldier of my war inside” represents the constant battle between what you feel you should do and what you really want to do. Sometimes it’s so easy to obscure your own visions because of other people’s formalities.

RAVENEYE will be breaking out in the U.S. very soon, tour dates to be announced shortly.

Wayne Krantz: Rig Rundown

Article and photos:

Premier Guitar caught up with Wayne Krantz in Nashville at City Winery on the first date of his two-month tour to discuss his pragmatic approach to gear.

Wayne Krantz goes live without a net, touring with a single guitar, an S-style loaner from John Suhr. The Suhr has a very useable whammy bar, maple neck, and Suhr ML (Michael Landau) vintage-style single-coil pickups. Krantz opts for big-top/ skinny-bottom D’Addario strings (.011, .013, .017, .026, .032, .038).

During his Nashville show Krantz plugged into a stock Fender Blues DeVille 2x12 on loan from his driver. He ran out of the Fender into his personal amp, a Marshall 2553 Silver Jubilee with a matching 2x12 mini cabinet. Krantz picked up the Marshall on eBay years ago, and the two have had a warm working relationship ever since.
