The European dates are part of the band’s 2-year ‘Final Tour’ cycle that will culminate at Staples Center on December 31st in the band’s hometown of Los Angeles, CA for their final show ever.

Alice Cooper Fan Presale Info Coming Soon

At a press conference in London hosted by Matt Everitt of BBC6 Music today, the band gathered in front of European media from 12 countries and announced the tour dates demanded by none other than their fans. Leading up to today’s announcement, Mötley Crüe gave the fans an opportunity to voice their thoughts and vote on which European cities they would like to see the band play. An overwhelming 500,000 fans in 18 European countries shared their messages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #DemandtheCrue and could track the progress of the conversation via a heat map that was updated daily at: Motley.com/DemandTheCrue

The November tour dates will be the ultimate farewell to the European continent as Mötley Crüe will be bringing over their biggest production and pyro show to date including Nikki Sixx’s flame throwing bass and Tommy Lee’s “Crüecifly” drum coaster, as well as the “Crüesnest” where fans can sit with the band up close and personal during the grand finale of the show. Speaking on their final ever European tour announcement, bassist Nikki Sixx said:

After thirty-four years performing together, the 2015 leg of the Final Tour includes shows all across the globe. Tom Hess: The Four Keys To Making An Effective Guitar Practice Schedule

The Four Keys To Making An Effective Guitar Practice Schedule

By Tom Hess
How do you feel when practicing guitar for extended practice sessions and making few or no progress at all? Do you know why you are struggling to get better at guitar regardless all the time you are practicing?

I know exactly how you feel, because I’ve been in that same situation too. However, after several trials and errors I comprehend that for getting more results from a practice routine is required 4 key principles. Here are the 4 key principles of a perfect guitar practice routine:

Key #1: Have A Consistent Guitar Practicing Routine
Of course you should be practicing guitar every day... However, in addition, you must steadily implement all the elements of perfect guitar practice.

To keep yourself practicing guitar on a consistent basis, focus on the true reasons why you are practicing guitar and why you want to become a great guitarist. Constantly imagine how awesome it will be when you finally achieve your guitar playing goals.
Each of these key elements work together to create what I refer to as the “guitar playing progress loop”. Improve all elements of the loop and you will get massive results in your guitar playing.

Key #2: Practicing Guitar With Strong Focus
If you find you are practicing ineffective guitar exercises, it won’t matter how much time you invest into practicing... you just won’t get any results. If you aren’t focused during practice and you get distracted every few seconds, you are only “playing”. Playing, though it is fun, doesn’t help you improve in a big way. A focused mind is essential for making significant improvement during your practice time.

Take for example a magnifying glass: with a little patience you can use a tiny beam of sunlight to create fire - THAT is the power of “concentration”, and that is the same power of a focused mind.
Once you know how to practice guitar with this type of focus, you will start achieving huge progress in your guitar playing even if you have limited guitar practice time.
Watch this video to see an illustration of what it means to practice guitar with great focus:

Key #3: Only Practice With High Quality Guitar Practice Materials (Ones That Are PROVEN To Work)
You must have an effective practice schedule if you want to become a great guitarist… However, a schedule alone will do nothing if you are practicing with low quality practice materials (like what you will find in most YouTube videos or lessons from inexperienced guitar teachers).
To identify which practice materials are the best for your particular guitar playing goals, know the following:

1. The best materials are part of an overarching strategy. They must to be arranged in a way that helps you achieve very specific musical goals.

2. The best materials will be given to you by an expert guitar teacher. An expert guitar teacher is not necessarily the one who plays at the highest technical level. The best guitar teacher is the one who has guitar students with the most advanced skills.

Key #4: Highly Efficient Guitar Practice Scheduling
These are the common groups that most guitar players are in when it comes to using guitar practice schedules:

1. Guitar players who are always seeking one practice schedule that will turn them into great guitarists.

2. Guitar players who think practice routines are dull and futile.

None of them understand how practicing guitar really works and this causes them to continue struggling to achieve results in their guitar playing.
The BEST guitar practice schedules (when created properly) are both enjoyable and effective since they are based on your own practicing habits and guitar playing goals. Learn how to create such schedules in this article about the coolest way to practice guitar.
I’ll tell you a secret: Regardless of how effective a particular practice schedule works for you today, it won’t work forever. Notice that whenever you improve your guitar skills, you also need to update your practice schedule. You must create a strategy that allows you to adjust your practice schedule whenever your skills, needs and goals evolve. Read this page about creating effective guitar practice schedules and discover how do this in the best way possible.

Tom Hess: How To Make 6-Figures Per Year Teaching Guitar & Turn So-So Guitar Students Into Great Players

How To Make 6-Figures Per Year Teaching Guitar & Turn So-So Guitar Students Into Great Players
By Tom Hess
Guitar teaching reality: you can achieve incredible success and earn great money teaching guitar whether you are a total beginner or have been teaching for many years. The world’s most profitable guitar teachers are not smarter than you and don’t have a lot more talent or potential than you... Fact is, they have all had to overcome the same (or greater) challenges than you in their guitar teaching journey.

That being said, what is the main difference between massively successful guitar teachers and everyone else? If you think that the top guitar teachers simply know something that others don’t or do things in a different way – you’re partially correct. Yes, the world’s best guitar instructors almost always have guitar teacher business coaching?but that is only one aspect of what gives them the ability to dominate their competitors. They also possess internal qualities and successful mental traits shared between champions in all walks of life. When these skills are used in combination with efficient training and coaching on how to successfully teach guitar, success becomes unavoidable.
Here are the five critical qualities required for becoming a massively successful guitar teacher:

Quality #1. Unfaltering Patience
Growing a small-time guitar teaching business into a hundred thousand dollar per year + earning level will take much time and effort. At times, this work will seem unending, discouraging and overwhelming. This initial challenge is what weeds out the great teachers from the mediocre ones. Here is the reason why the greatest guitar teachers succeed in the face of this adversity:

1. They can see the big picture and are aware that the early difficulties are just a small price to pay for the massive results that will eventually come.

2. They are aware that the biggest challenges occur in the beginning. The more successful you become, the “easier” it is to attain a higher level of success. This is a fact not only for earning great money teaching guitar, but for helping your guitar students improve their skills.

3. They are resourceful enough to find and work with an experienced guitar teacher trainer in order to skyrocket their guitar teaching businesses to the highest level of success in very little time.

Quality #2. A “Sink Or Swim” Attitude
The guitar teachers who have the most success are in the habit of building their businesses with a sense of urgency. They essentially feel they MUST succeed no matter what? as if their lives depended on it.

This type of attitude causes teachers to take consistent, MASSIVE action – resulting in the achievement of equally massive results. Massive action consists of not only working “harder”, but working SMARTER - such as looking for guitar teacher business coaching that will save you time and give you a clear path to success.

Note: this kind of urgency comes only from having the same frame of mind as a true champion - having total confidence in your power to achieve success.

Quality #3. The Highest Standards For Success
Unsuccessful guitar teachers treat their business like a side-job or a hobby... successful ones treat it like a BUSINESS! To do this, you need to:

*Make and enforce a STRONG teaching policy that covers all of your expectations for your students to understand (discover more about this by checking out this article on making a good living as a guitar teacher).

*Demand nothing but excellence from each one of your guitar students. This does not mean that you try to make everyone into a master player- it means getting them to achieve the goals they want to achieve (and not letting them give up). This approach will help you get better results with your students in two main ways:

a. You will naturally become a better guitar teacher in the process of dedicating yourself to getting results for your students.

b. You will lose mediocre students and start gaining more and more serious students – these are students who will practice everything at home and take progress seriously. This will quickly advance
a positive reputation for you in your city.

Quality #4. Relentless Work Ethic & Dedication
Being a great guitar teacher, earning huge amounts of money and understanding how to get the biggest results for your students requires an incredible amount of dedication. To grow your guitar teaching business to astronomical levels, you must be ready to do “anything” to reach your goal.

Most importantly, you must live by the code that all champions live by:
“The cost of success is ALWAYS paid in advance”.

Your work ethic consists of doing whatever it takes for however long it takes until your goals are reached.

Fortunately, this kind of work ethic can easily be developed and strengthened by:

*Having a thorough understanding of WHAT to do to start a successful guitar teaching business.

*Being part of a gathering of other similar guitar instructors who are either already HUGELY successful or are on the cusp of building their businesses in their local areas. Such a gathering is phenomenally elusive, since most guitar instructors are not making a decent living fiscally, have a cynical outlook and lack desire to achieve genuine progress. Then again, when you fit in with a system of champion guitar educators, you will discover it is much more easy to achieve the same status yourself.

Quality #5. A Virtuoso Mindset Of Complete Confidence
Successful guitar teachers who make $100k+ annually and produce the most skilled students NEVER contemplate the following:

*Is my guitar playing talent good enough to teach guitar lessons?

*Can I really quit my day job and teach guitar lessons for a living?

*Can someone really earn more than 10-20 thousand per year teaching guitar alone?

*How many years does it take before I can make a full-time living teaching guitar?

The above questions are built on insecurity, self-doubt and fear – a recipe for total failure.
The best guitar teachers in the world have eliminated these types of low-quality questions and replaced them with high-quality questions that prepare them for success. For example:

*How can I teach guitar better and more effectively than anybody else in my area?

*What are the greatest strategies I can use to earn 6-figures teaching guitar?

*What are the specific steps I must take leave my job and teach guitar full-time?

*How can I guarantee that my guitar teaching business continues growing regardless of the economy, where I live or the number of other teachers in my area?

These are the type of high quality questions you must ask yourself to become successful. When you ask yourself questions like this, you will eventually be lead to the specific goals you seek to achieve.
Now that you understand the five elements needed for becoming a successful guitar teacher, use them by seeking out guitar teacher business coaching so you can take your teaching business to the highest level.

Joe Satriani, Robin DiMaggio: Team Up on Original Song for the United Nations - To Debut on June 30th.

Song to Debut at the Annual Presidential General Assembly of the UN 69TH Session Gala on June 30th

(Los Angeles, CA) World renowned guitarist, JOE SATRIANI and UN Musical Director ROBIN DIMAGGIO, have teamed up to compose and produce a new song entitled, “Music Without Words” to be unveiled at the June 30th Annual Presidential General Assembly of the UN 69th Session Gala in New York City. The Assembly and Gala feature world dignitaries as well as the Heads of States from nations across the globe. Accompanying the song will be a video, compiled by the UN, featuring footage of people the world over.

The song was co-written by the two exclusively for this event and produced by DiMaggio as the UN Musical Director. On his collaboration with SATRIANI, DiMaggio stated “Working with Joe has brought a new meaning to music, this masterpiece was a collaboration of elegance and prestige. This unforgettable melody is for all the human beings in sync with enlightenment and peace.”

A meeting between these two iconic musicians first took place when Robin, as musical director for the Arsenio Hall Show, asked SATRIANI to sit in with his band last fall. A friendship sparked between the two and discussions of collaborating for the UN, began. Fast forward to June 30th when the piece will debut at the UN Assembly. "Robin came to me with a beautiful challenge,” SATRIANI says, “to create a melody that would touch the hearts of six billion people, a call to humanity, a message of love. He sent me an awesome groove to get the ball rolling, I sent him back a melody, and we kept the collaboration going until we were both blown away. I’m thrilled with the final mix and can’t wait for people to hear it.”

The song also features vocals from Ms Monet, a Grammy-award winning vocalist, songwriter and performer who has sung with everyone from Boz Scaggs to Faith Hill, Toto and Queen Latifah. It was DiMaggio’s decision, to blend the beauty of Ms Monet’s vocals with SATRIANI's guitar to create such an incredibly moving piece.

SATRIANI is currently readying his 15th solo album, “Shockwave Supernova” for release on July 24th. SATRIANI is the world’s most commercially successful solo guitar performer, with six gold and platinum discs to his credit (including one more gold award for the debut album by his band Chickenfoot), and sales in excess of 10 million copies. The critically acclaimed guitarist also has 15 Grammy nominations for songs such as “Always With Me, Always With You,” “The Crush Of Love,” and “Summer Song,” as well as full albums like Surfing With The Alien, The Extremist and Super Colossal.

Robin DiMaggio is a musical force to be reckoned with. Known as one of the world's premiere drummers and classical/world percussionists, Robin is also a highly skilled songwriter, composer, conductor, arranger, producer, engineer, and instrumentalist. He has toured and recorded with veterans such as Paul Simon, David Bowie, Jackson Browne, Diana Ross, Tupac, Dr. Dre, Luther Vandross, Lil Jon, Martina McBride, Daft Punk, Johnny Cash, and Chris Isaak, as well as with acclaimed world musicians, sitarist/composer Ravi Shankar and violin maestro L. Shankar. He has also appeared on David Letterman and has performed at the Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, World Music Awards in Monte Carlo, and the MTV Music Awards, and was Musical Director and drummer for late-night TV’s Arsenio Hall Show on CBS Syndication, and TBS’ Lopez Tonight, hosted by George Lopez. Having traveled extensively from an early age, Robin’s music incorporates rhythms and sounds from diverse cultures throughout the world. The vast array of influences in Robin's life have made him a charismatic ambassador of the arts. For the fifth straight year, Robin has been assigned the returning position of Music Director for the United Nations, where one of his many responsibilities includes coordinating musical guests for the official General Assembly Summit in New York City each September at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria. Robin produced former Eagles guitarist Don Felder's 2012 album, Road to Forever, and Stephen Bishop's 2014 release, Be Here Then. Robin has some incredible projects in the works, as he is in the preliminary stages of his new vision — the first U.N. School of Art, Culture and Music in Southern California.

With more than 45 million records sold worldwide and countless sold-out tours, Rush – Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart – is not only one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history, but remains one of the most popular. The RIAA® has certified Rush for the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band, topped only by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Rush’s vast catalogue includes such classics as 1974’s self-titled debut, 1976’s 2112, 1981’s Moving Pictures, 1996’s Test For Echo, and 2002’s Vapor Trails. Rush released their 20th studio album, Clockwork Angels, in 2012 via Anthem/Roadrunner Records. The critically-acclaimed collection marks their first studio recording since 2007’s Snakes & Arrows, and debuted at #1 in Canada and #2 on the Billboard 200, matching the highest chart debut of the band’s career. In addition to their commercial success, Rush has also been recognized with a number of Juno Awards and multiple Grammy® nominations, including one for the acclaimed documentary “Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage” and the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award. Enjoying a pop culture renaissance, Rush made a rare television appearance - their first in over 30 years - on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” and a memorable cameo in the film “I Love You, Man.” In 2013 Rush was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to the delight of fans around the world. During the successful Clockwork Angels tour, The Globe & Mail hailed Rush as “one of the few bands anywhere that just keeps getting better” while a career-chronicling Rolling Stone feature summed up the renowned rock trio’s continuing artistic vitality by observing, “It’s true that Rush doesn’t mean today what it did in ’76 or even ’96. It may mean more.” Rush will celebrate their 40th anniversary with their last large-scale tour, R40, visiting 34 cities in North America starting in May 2015 including sold out dates in Austin, San Jose, New York, Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago and ends in Los Angeles at The Forum on August 1, 2015.

Derryl Gabel: "Visions and Dreams" and "Fusion Solos" new books and Guitar Pro files

Hope you had a great weekend. Many of you have my instructional DVDs and have been working on a lot of my unique concepts and soloing ideas. What better way to see these in action than to get my Visions and Dreams Songbook and my Fusions Solos transcriptions. Not only will you see and hear how I use these concepts you will learn a lot of new licks and fusiony chord voicings and progressions.

I posted a commercial of sorts on youtube for the Visions and Dreams Songbook. It's basically a screen shot of Guitar Pro software playing the "Tell Me" transcription. Go here to check it out. This actual recording is here.

The Visions and Dreams Songbook and Fusion Solos comes in Guitar Pro format and PDF.

The Visions and Dreams Songbook comes in 3 versions

1. The Digital Download Version. This includes all the Guitar Pro 6 files, the PDF files and the mp3s of each tune and the backing tracks.

2. The CD-ROM version- comes packaged in a hardshell DVD case with artwork. Also included is the digital download which you will receive links for once your order is placed.

3. The spiral bound hard copy in paperback signed by me, the CD-ROM version, and the digital download- This paperback book has protective see through covers and is made with high quality paper. The book contains a total of 370 pages.

Fusion Solos only comes in CD-ROM and Digital Download versions.

As stated earlier, each tune is in the Guitar Pro 6 format. Guitar Pro 6 allows you to loop and slow down individual licks and or sections to practice with. If you don't have Guitar Pro 6 software I have included all the parts in the PDF format as well. Each GP6 and PDF file contains the transcription of the guitar solo, the rhythm guitar, and bass parts in guitar tab and standard notation. I have also included performance notes describing techniques used as well as liner notes and gear setup. Not only that but you will also get mp3s of the tunes and the backing tracks! Fusion Solos does not include the backing tracks since most of the solos are guest solos that I did for other artists.

If you want some amazing guitar and bass licks, great compositional ideas, super cool chord voicings and progressions, and tons of inspiration pick up your copy today!
