Dmitriy Zhynkin: Ibanez Flying Fingers 2016 Moscow Russia

I've been using Ibanez guitars for nearly 20 years. I had noticed already long ago that all my favorite guitar players use Ibanez. Steve Vai, George Benson, Paul Gilbert, John Scofield, Joe Satriani, Pat Metheny - all of them have played Ibanez. I've grown up with music of these musicians. That's why I can say for sure - I am also grateful to Ibanez company for my musical development. There is Ibanez FRM100 - TR - an awesome instrument! Once I heard Paul Gilbert's album Fuzz Universe - that was just superb! I've listened to it about 20 times - amazing album! Incredible musicality, beauty and harmony, virtuosic and, at the same time, stunning playing by Paul.
That was absolutely new Paul Gilbert to me. And I was especially impressed with his sound on this album. It seemed like it wasn't typical Paul's sound. That was something new and fresh.

A very intelligent, not too distorted, a bit vintage sound, terrific sound that I fell in love with.

There was Ibsnez FRM100-TR!

The nice surprise is that instrument isn't expensive, but it does sound amazing. When I purchased it, I played so much that erased frets in 6 months, now I got new frets - steel ones.

It is such a terrific thing that Ibanez never stops progressing.

They can always surprise you with new excellent guitar models!

And one more thing - to be an Ibanez artist is a big honor for any musician, no matter how big and popular he or she is!

Pablo Romeu: Guitar Idol 2016

Pablo Romeu has been contributing great performances in online competitions, thus having the amazing opportunity of representing his country in Bangkok (Thailand), where he was one of the winners of the "Yamaha and Laney Competition" in 2013. In 2014 and 2016 he was also one of the finalists of the "Six String Theory Music Competition", sponsored by the legendary guitarist Lee Ritenour. In 2015 he was one of the 10 finalists of the amazing contest organized by JamTrackCentral. Pablo enjoys making heavy music, however, always with several references to Brazilian music. This mix represents his personality and has been received with great acclaim.

Nick Andrew: Living on a prayer meets Third Wind - MJS Guitars

This is what keeps me awake all night. What If Pat Metheny was in Bon Jovi?
I played the middle part of Pat Metheny's Third Wind solo over Living on a Prayer to find out. I had to simplify Pats solo to one key, but it kind of works.
It's always a good idea to try solos over different songs, so that you get the most out of your transcriptions.
I'm using my MJS Custom made by the amazing Godefroy Maruejouls
It is being played through a wee Vox mini practise amp and I'm using both the Lace Alumitone pickups and the piezo (built into the bridge) together.
The solo at the end is from "Wrong" by Zipper Tongue

Lari Basílio: 20 Soulful Groovy Licks! |

*NEW* Lari Basilio's 20 Soulful Groovy Licks! |
Download Links:

Soulful, stylish and downright groovy! Learning these sophisticated and melodic licks by our incredible new artist Lari Basilio, will inspire and innovate your own soloing and finger picking ideas!

Lari says 'My goal with these licks was to highlight how you can incorporate finger picking into your playing whilst maintaining a great groove and always keeping things melodic.' She really hit the nail on the head there, as Lari's sense of groove and melody comes across with both impact and grace in equal measures!

These funky, fun and often surprising licks feature a mass of interesting melodic and rhythmic concepts that you can learn to add into your own solos. Be prepared for muted strums, rests on downbeats, accented notes on upbeats and some quite intricate picking patterns! You'll find creative use of the mixolydian, aeolian, dorian, pentatonic and harmonic minor scales in these licks as well as parallel 6ths, stacked 4ths, chordal inversions, open strings, cool chromatics and both partial and superimposing arpeggios.

For the technique side of Lari's new package the finger picking style is quite a main focus, but Lari also makes great use of alternate picking, sweep picking, tapping, double-stops, legato, pianistic style lines and a lot of cool bending!

Lari has really knocked it out of the park with these masterful licks; this girl really knows how to make a debut in style, and is an absolute pro! We're incredibly excited to have her as part of the ever growing roster of incredible artists here at JTC!

As ever, we have included everything you need to practise and perfect the material in this package. There are video and audio tracks for you to watch/listen and study, accurately transcribed TAB/notation for you to analyse and master, and backing tracks for everything! We've even included some text notes to help you really get these parts down!
