Carlos Santana: Audio Fidelity To Release Legendary Santana Live Album “Lotus” 2-CD On Limited Edition Hybrid SACD

Camarillo, CA – Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity will be releasing Santana's critically acclaimed live album Lotus on limited edition hybrid SACD. Lotus is a 1974 live album by Santana, recorded at the Osaka Koseinenkin Hall, Osaka, Japan in 1973. It was originally released in 1974 as a triple vinyl LP in Japan only. The first U.S. release was in 1991 as a 2-CD set. It features the “New Santana Band” and combines that group's jazz and spiritual influences. Some of the band's biggest hits are performed, such as “Black Magic Woman” and “Oye Como Va,” but it is the extended, intense instrumentals that are the order of the day such as the breathtaking “Incident at Neshabur,” “Every Step of the Way,” and “Toussaint L'Overture.”

Carlos' superpowered guitar is mesmerizing, the entire atmosphere is otherworldly, beautiful, modern jazzy and most of all, electrifying. His guitar tone is perfect, each solo has a central rhythmic and melodic structure that was used to express in a moment what can never be repeated. The greatness of Lotus is its ability to take all of Carlos' beautiful melodies and expand them each into a whole new creation.

Santana fans know there are “several different Santanas.” This was the MILES Santana, the COLTRANE Santana. This is intense and awe-inspiring music played with so much mind-numbing passion. Carlos' guitar speaks notes on this recording that are nothing short of extraordinary. He manages to imbue a vibration that cuts right through your soul. Even on the familiar hits, the jazz fusion makes its way into the notes and Carlos delivers a new message. This was the top of Santana's spiritual-fusion era. Lotus is the Live Santana album that gives other Live albums a bad name. Spectacular, breathtaking, emotional, spiritual...and it rocks!

Diana Rein: Grammy Nomination for Contemporary Blues

FOR YOUR GRAMMY CONSIDERATION: DIANA REIN: BEST CONTEMPORARY BLUES ALBUM "LONG ROAD"

"Scorching guitar riffs and sultry vocals...perfect blending of hard-hitting blues and rock guaranteed to excite Blues fans. One of the Blues world's rising stars."
AMERICAN BLUES SCENE

"Reins' voice is very reminiscent of a young Emmylou Harris. She's capable of conveying vulnerability or toughness in equal measure and adds a versatility to her music."

BLUES BYTES

"Diana Rein lets her Blues evolve on Long Road, letting chords carve deep gashes into the emotions of the tracks and setting the notes free to wrap around the guilt of desire ("Wicked"), burn of betrayal ("Down Down Down") and triumphant return ("Come Back Home").

THE ALTERNATE ROOT

Get ready to meet your fate when listening to "The Six-String Siren," guitarist Diana Rein, on her critically-acclaimed sophomore album Long Road. Written, recorded and produced by Diana Rein, the disc features twelve original tracks on which Rein sings, plays lead, bass, and rhythm guitar. Long Road was mixed and mastered by Peter Duff at Grey Brick Studios in San Diego, CA.

In Mythology, Sirens were dangerous yet beautiful creatures that would lure sailors with enchanting songs and make them crash onto the rocky coast. It is said that some crews survived by inserting wax in their ears to keep from being compelled. But what if the music was turned up? What if it was amplified? What if there were soaring guitar tones that shook your bones and cut through to your soul? You'd be helpless.

On Long Road, Diana Rein displays a sharp tongue, driving blues-based guitar, and melodic solos. It won't take long before you fall under her spell. The title track eases you into the album with the admission that life tried to steal her dream but "it's been a long road and now I'm coming home, time forgives, lets me in, starting over." With vocals and guitar solos intertwining in a call-and-response fashion, the melody keeps you floating on a sea of sound. "Wild One" punches the listener in the gut with its bone-rattling bass line and lead guitar riff. This sets the stage for what Long Road is about: Soaring guitar solos and thought-provoking lyrics. Some big attitude from a little lady. "I love to play the Blues till dawn, my main man is Stevie Ray Vaughan," which also allows Rein to honor her biggest inspiration. "Livin' Loud" exudes a swamp-y swagger, it's Hendrix-esque '60's guitar solo driving home the point that loud is the way it's going to be. "Greenlight" is a response to Doyle Bramhall Jr.'s "Greenlight Girl," with driving drums that won't let up and guitars that sound like a train steadily making its way into the stratosphere: "I'm gonna take you home tonight, it's us and the spirits of the night, baby I won't put up a fight, I want you now."

News: Dean Markley Blackhawk Coated Guitar Strings Take Flight

Dean Markley Blackhawk Coated Guitar Strings Take Flight

GLENDALE, AZ — From the studio by day to the stage at night, natural tone soars with Blackhawk, a new series of coated guitar strings from Dean Markley USA. Available for both electric and acoustic guitars, Blackhawk takes flight with tonal versatility, strength, and quality for a wide style of playing providing players with ultimate string performance without the flakey, shedding residue of other coated strings.

A guitarist's choice of strings is as personal as their choice of instrument. The decision impacts not only tonal quality, but also the player's unique sound—their individuality as a musician. With this in mind, Dean Markley's Blackhawk Coated Acoustic strings offer two different alloy wraps for distinct tones:

Blackhawk 80/20 Bronze – Bring the brass with 80% copper and 20% zinc. These strings make a bold statement with a crisp, deep tone that’s ideal for recording.

Blackhawk Phosphor Bronze – The hawk returns to nest with this warm, bright and well-balanced tone. The 92% copper and 8% tin composition provide excellent intonation and tone life.

Blackhawk Coated Electric strings round out the series with sophistication. The wound string has a hexagonal core made of high-carbon steel, providing superior strength and unparalleled pitch stability. The wire wraps are uniquely engineered on proprietary machinery with advanced wire-coating technology. It’s hard to believe, let alone see, that these strings are coated when a digital micrometer is used to measure the drastically reduced thickness. Like a beautiful bird soaring through the wild, the natural tones of Blackhawk Coated Electric strings are unrepressed.

Proudly made in the U.S.A., Dean Markley Blackhawk strings are now available at your local store. To find a dealer near you, visit www.DeanMarkley.com.

DJ Ashba: Sixx:A.M. Teams Up with Dean Markley

Dj Ashba of Sixx:A.M. Teams Up with Dean Markley

“To be a true guitarist isn’t about anything except the art of playing guitar.” — Dj Ashba
Dean Markley USA announces the addition of guitarist Dj Ashba to their artist roster along with the Dj Ashba Artist Series of strings. Ashba joins many musicians who proudly play Dean Markley strings.

The Dj Ashba Artist Series is a custom set of gauges that feature .010, .013, .017, .028, .038, and .048 from the longtime favorite, Dean Markley Signature Series of nickel plated strings.

Dj Ashba is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and graphic designer. He grew up in Fairbury, Illinois, where he worked in the cornfields to earn enough money to buy his first guitar. Influenced by Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen, he practiced tirelessly, sometimes 17 hours a day. By the time he moved to Los Angeles at 18, he was proficient enough to become an in-demand session and touring guitarist. He released a well-received solo album, Addiction to the Friction, composed music for film scores, and in 2007 partnered with Nikki Sixx and James Michael to form Sixx:A.M. From 2009 to 2015, Ashba also played lead guitar in Guns N’ Roses. As a co-producer and songwriter, he has worked with a diverse list of talent ranging from Motley Crue to Neil Diamond. Most recently, Dj scored the title song to Eli Roth’s 2015 hit movie The Green Inferno. Dj has been featured on hit TV shows such as History Channel’s Counting Cars and Animal Planet’s Tanked. This Fall, see Dj Ashba touring arenas with Sixx:A.M. to bring the band’s two 2016 releases, Volume 1, Prayers For The Damned and Volume 2, Prayers For The Blessed live to fans across North America.

“Being a guitarist means being true to what you do,” says Dj Ashba. “Guitar is an art, and it takes a lot of years and dedication. It’s not an overnight thing. It’s a super-long road, and you’re going to hit the ground, but at the end of the day, what makes you a true guitarist is honing in on a unique style and never giving up.”

Tomáš Raclavský: Modern Day Babylon - HESU BASTARD AMP/ 1x12 Wizard cab DEMO

Here is my demo for this little guitar stack !
Hesu Bastard is just 20W all tube amp, 2 channels, Fx loop, and it sounds so sick. In combination with the new Hesu Wizard cab with their new HESU DEMON SPEAKERS sounds so modern, punchy and the articulation/clarity/dynamic is what u need for all modern sounds.
In this demo i use my Skervesen 4TR (signature prototype V1) with tuning (high to low) eb bb gb db ab eb ab eb. The mic is AKG c414b-uls
The tuning is really low but i wanted to try how far can I go. So as u can hear the low tuning wasn't problem for this stack.
