Josh Martin: Thumping/Hyrbid Picking Arpeggio Study in standard for 6 string

Here is a hybrid picking and thumping study using the standard 6 strings and tuning. I originally set out to compose a pleasant sounding exercise to use to practice hybrid picking, but when I started to feel the groove with my thumb I realized they are both viable ways of articulating it. I added some wandering chords in the middle, tried really hard to gracefully strum these tender morsels of meat as slide around the skeleton of the piece. Was fun to improvise chords around some trippy triads. I did not capture it on camera though sorry about that.

If you're using your thumb

D= down with the thumb
U= up with the thumb
1= index
2= middle

If you're hybrid picking

D= down stroke
U= up stroke
1= middle
2= ring
