Dave Martone will be earning his corn this summer wit ha series of summer seminars for the guitar workshop, The shows are set to run in Seattle, WA - June 28-July 3 and CT 3 - July 27-August 1



Mojo Room with Dave Martone
This new exciting seminar led by Dave Martone will take students on a journey like no other. Class topics include "The Five Sounds of GOD" developmental arpeggios and the art of improvising with modal colors (diatonic, melodic, harmonic, dominant pentatonic) to get to the "Mojo Room!" Students will learn about the crazy new "rolling hybrid" technique and other topics such as obtaining endorsements, instrumental songwriting, releasing independent CDs and surviving the "Killer Technique Day!"

80's Rock with Dave Martone
The 80's brought to guitar what a lead foot brings to a Ferrari: aggression, speed and power. A great variety of guitar players will be discussed including Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, and others. Classic topics include sweeping, legato technique, arpeggios, barre technique, modes, and achieving a killer tone. Dave leads the class through different periods of the 80's with abundant demonstrations of technique and tone, plus lots of in-class jamming.

Journey to the Extreme
July 12-17

Delve into the world of extreme guitar in this seminar that covers topics such as tapping, double tapping, arpeggios, sweep picking, and hybrid picking. Other topics include legato development, speed, modes, tone, and phrasing. Learn the techniques of extreme guitar masters such as Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, and Randy Rhodes.

Shredding Blues Guitar
August 10-15

Designed for the intermediate to advanced student, this class will focus beyond typical blues type improvising, exploring the various aspects of shred blues. Students will learn how musicians have manipulated standard blues shapes into something more fierce, discussing players such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, Edward Van Halen, Slash, Greg Howe, Eric Johnson, and Zakk Wylde. Topics covered will include blues pentatonics, string skipping blues, tapping blues, hybrid rolling blues, and learning how to place the standard pentatonics in new ways on the guitar neck. There will be heavy emphasis on jamming and student performance in class.

Classic Rock Gods

This course delves into the music and stylistic guitar playing of the legendry artists that shaped the way the instrument is played. From Hendrix, Townshend, Harrison, and Richards in the '60's, through Gilmour, Page, Beck, and Clapton in the '70's, and on to Van Halen, Rhoads, Satriani, and Malmsteen in the '80's, this class is sure to excite the classic rock guitar enthusiast.
