Background:
Borislav Mitic was born in Belgrade, Serbia. He started playing at the age of 11. He was self taught, picking up ideas and licks from players like: Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen, Allan Holdsworth, Gary Moore, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.

By the age of 17 he had a pretty expansive array of techniques, so he started listening to classical music from Bach, Liszt, Paganini, Mendelsohn and Tchaikowsky. His talent was getting him well known in Belgrade. Unfortunately for Borislav, his country became embroiled with war and the break up of Yugoslavian federation, bringing his career to a crashing halt.

After years of struggle, he finally got to release his first solo album "Fantasy" and these recordings got the attention of Mike Varney and enabled Borislav to move to Canada in 1998 and release to his self titled debut "Borislav Mitic" in 1999 on Shrapnel Records label.

In early 2004 Borislav made a guest appearance on the shred fest of keyboard player Vitalij Kuprij's album "Forward and Beyond".

He is currently finishing a new instrumental solo album That is due for release in December 2005.
