10-08-2005: Elias Viljanen has completed work on his next Lion Music release "The Leadstar" which is due for release on August 19th 2005. Look out for it soon.

Background:
Elias Viljanen started playing guitar from the age of 9. He started on an acoustic and took some courses on guitar playing, learning basic chops and chords. He then got his first White Leadstar, a copy of Fender Stratocaster.

As a teenager he was influenced by Metallica and Kirk "the hamster" Hammet . Which lead on to him listening to Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.

In 2001 he started to record his own solo work. He wanted it to be as perfect as possible so practiced 4 months, everyday 2-3 hours a day, for a 3-song demo called "The Axe master". THe release did not land a major deal as he had hoped, but Lion Music heard the demo and offered him a deal. You can hear and buy the results of the Taking the lead CD from guitar9.
