International Guitar Festival at the Sage Gateshead

Welcome to the 3rd festival at Sage Gateshead presented by the
International Guitar Foundation. It's a real pleasure for us to offer
exceptional talent from the UK, Europe, across the Americas and the
Caribbean. This electrifying range of artists, many of whom are new to
the north east, offer five sensational days of guitar-based delights
that you won't want to miss.

From Malaga in Spain, Paco Javier Jimeno's new generation flamenco group
offer a breathtaking performance. The Eden Stell duo's dazzling new
multimedia musical trip around the UK features Lindisfarne amongst other
evocative locations. There are premieres of new commissions by Errollyn
Wallen and Tim Garland; music from Brazil, Cuba and Argentina; young
guitar stars of tomorrow from the UK and Mexico and more.

During this festival, guitar artistry presents itself in many ways, from
dazzling spectacle to sensuous intimacy; from music that entertains with
its rhythmic energy, to music that unfolds in ways that delight may
surprise and delight you. All of the concerts present artists at the
height of their powers who have been especially selected. You really
