Background:
Illan Ashkenazi is another of the great underground undiscovered. He's gradually getting his name around by seeding the internet liberally with hot mp3's of his shred infused playing.
Ilan began playing music at the age of 4 by learning to play the violin. Hestarted playing piano from age 7 and guitar from the age of 9. Ilan is self taught, and has got to his current level of ability by hard practice.
He started off by practicing the music from his early training like Bach, Paganini, Mozart, finally moving to modern jazz and fusion.
Some of his influences: Tony MacAlpine, Vinnie Moore, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai
